First thread in years, but had to get this off my chest.
The BoE is expected to increase interest rates today, driving up mortgage costs and likely putting the brakes on business investments across the economy.
My question is - why?

@Korgash Well of course the Tories would struggle to get to grips with this, but arenโt QE and interest rates driven by the (supposedly) independent BoE?
Also it would be good to see some more radical thinking from @UKLabour along these lines.

But whatever the case, surely we need at least to be a bit more creative in how we use the mechanisms available to us, rather than just chugging away with the same old solutions to what are fundamentally different problems 11/11
@_DHOTYA This seems plausible. Just the bit she left out in the โlong story shortโ was that when she says sheโs tweeting from the UK, she means a UK based immigration office as they wonโt let her through passport control.
@AskVirginMoney Is it possible to send an update to credit reference agencies about my credit card account balance. Currently my balance on Experian is showing ยฃ5k more than it should. Need to get it updated ASAP due to a mortgage application
@ToniScottSays@mr__mo@IanDunt How many elections do Lab need to lose to realise that PR would benefit them as well? Blair years were an anomaly. In reality Lab NEED PR, especially if they want a leftwing agenda. With PR, weโd be looking at a Lab/SNP/LD coalition today. FPTP only works for Tories.
