Telling visual stories about rural and remote Australia, especially sheep, wool and shearing sheds, Christine is a painter, printmaker, teacher and writer.
@IamFarmerRenee @knightd73 I was at the cotton conference at brisvegas years ago now. Going for my morning constitutional I saw, amongst the derelict West End homes, a bush that looked exactly like cotton. Someone told me then that it was once a garden ornamental plant.
@JackieMorrisArt @unbounders I teach about watercolours. There are only three main precepts, the first being that #watercolour is USUALLY painted on paper. We can in fact paint on whatever we like.
#studentledlearning is when the smallest member of the group in today’s #StepAway class bemoans drawing not painting. Easy. Class set of paints in car, adjustment of lesson. Everybody (including me) happy. Art shouldn’t be a struggle.
@gunsnrosesgirl3 Looks suspiciously like action at the bar known as “the snake pit”, Goondiwindi, Queensland, circa 1989, any Friday night after midnight. 🤣
@apu2tahi@hey_butter 🤣 I know it was a Peugeot, you know it was a Peugeot, and the car hire company knows it was a Peugeot, but you have to admit “Nissan Micra” tells a better story.
First day of this term’s “Step Away” drawing program for parents and children - simple #pleinair drawing, away from screens in real life. Robinson’s Lookout in #Lismore, on a hot afternoon, today was so peaceful and cool.
@kimhonan On the day I left my last town, the furniture had gone, the wheelie bins were full. Just me and the cat in an empty house. I opened a tin of tuna. Half for me, half for him.
The next day I got in my car and drove both of us to our new home in Lismore.
@BOM_NSW Thanks you heads up. But should I look at your app, or your website???Yesterday evening’s swathe of storms were described very differently!! See pictures.
Dear @BOM_NSW , which is the truth? The first image is a screenshot from your app. The second from your website. Which do I believe ? The first says it’s fine to stay outdoors. The second: run undercover fast. #weather#predictions#radar
@RossFloate You’ll need to take alternative route north off M1 - Woodburn, Lismore, Bangalow. The Pie Cart in the middle of Lismore has the best pie ever. Crunchy flaky pastry, tasty fillings. Hot. My favourite is pepper. Closely followed by Apple.
@chelseabwrites I’ve bought myself a digital copy to put under my virtual Christmas tree. I’ll read it at the beach, with tea and Christmas cake, in my bathers after a surf, under the shade of a large eucalyptus tree.
