@SchuIzke I'd argue there are many paths to a happy life and a successful career and it's not necessary to move to the city, unless you want to. Even right out of school your resume could say "I work for [name your impressive company in LA] and I live in Darby, Montana."
Just finished “The Other Black Girl” by @zakiya_harris - a surprising, clever page-turner inspired by “Get Out” and set in NY publishing. Was taken aback to see Missoula have a cameo. Any other Missoulians reading this? Book clubs? I’d love to discuss with locals.
@zakiya_harris The Other Black Girl is amazing and the wait list is long at the Missoula Public Library, so there must be other Missoula readers out there. I also discovered @missoulalibrary is sponsoring a MT Racial Equity Project book club @themtrep (8/25 at 6 pm). Maybe I can nominate OBG...
@DavidDavidsalet It looks like you’ve picked your list, but I might suggest you choose one book written by a woman. Two that have helped me better understand Montana culture and politics are Judy Blunt’s Breaking Clean and Jeannette Rankin: America’s Conscience by Norma Smith
Let the pitches begin! Jenni Graff, director of EarlyStageMT kicking off the Western MT showcase in #Missoula with judges Randy Chesler of Glacier Bancorp, Ross Keogh of Parsons Behle & Latimer, Paul Gladen of @LaunchPad_UMT & Mario Schulzke of @themarioblog .@MontanaHighTech
HIRING ALERT: @MontanaHighTech is looking for a Communications Coordinator - full time writer/editor in Missoula, journalism or related background preferred. (And you work with me every day, which is maybe a selling point or fair warning) https://t.co/Vy6r337mFC #Montana#jobs
@dodegaard Totally agree, and everyone should take a look at this group working to bring a southern passenger route back to Montana. What if you could take the train from Missoula to Bozeman or Billings? https://t.co/tswaZRFFPh
Stolen: The Search for Jermain premieres March 1. Hosted by award-winning journalist @connie_walker, this new true-crime podcast investigates the story of Jermain Charlo, an Indigenous woman who went missing in Missoula in 2018. https://t.co/EBOTwfjrew
