@NoKingCharlie@ArmyChaplaincy The PM was only sort-of elected, so that might be a start. Remove all the MPs and life peers, but keep and restore the rights of the hereditary peerage.
@NoKingCharlie@ArmyChaplaincy But be of good cheer, if you are a UK subject the King is your king whether you like it or not, but the prime minister isn't your prime minister, he is the King's. 😉
@Robin_C_Douglas@pete_tepper@2D0XPS If the CofE is disestablished, then it should be linked (as in Wales) with disendowment. Oh wait, the clergy have suddenly changed their minds.
@rmbastable Since the lockdown, when we experienced a deserting-of- post at the centre, it has been apparent that none of the wider silly stuff really matters. "Validity" for want of a better word, is what what is purely Local.
It gives the Chaplain General great pleasure that His Majesty has been pleased to announce Her Majesty The Queen will adopt the role of Patron to The Royal Army Chaplains’ Department from the late Queen.
Sadly, the composer Jim Parker has died. A prolific artist who composed the signature tunes of "Midsomer Murders", "House of Cards", and the scores of "Foyle"s War", "Soldier Soldier", and "Mapp and Lucia", he collaborated with Sir John Betjeman on a number of presentations.
Seven years since the appalling murder of Father Jacques Hamel at the hands of terrorists whilst he was at the altar. Memory eternal. Père Jacques Martyr de France priez pour nous. #martyr#church#saint
King of Spain at the final day of Wimbledon. This looks great.
Very rare to see this level of tailoring nowadays, even on the wealthy. So let's talk about some of the reasons why it's great. 🧵
Robert Harris's "Act of Oblivion", a novel about the regicides, seems trite and over-written by several hundred pages. The anachronisms could have been avoided with a tiny bit of research. Have others seen or read it ?
@purgstallheath@churchofengland Perhaps a new generation will shift from the boomer 1970s tastelessness. Much of the lack of deference, sneering and silliness has its origin in those imbued by that era. They produced the "contemporary" Lords Prayer after all.
@liambeadle My grandfather could understand the BCP with ease. There has been 100 years of education between him and now. What on earth does that say about education, if someone can't cope? Do we hear the same with Shakespeare?
