Yeah, but that completely nerfs the whole system. No longer have any running chat history. The messages disappear from the sidebar as soon as you step away, and there are no memory features to keep context and continuity. It's like you either give them all your data, or you're left with a pretty nerfed and useless product.

It's kind of wild to me that ChatGPT, Claude, and even GROK all allow me to turn off training data if I have a paid plan, but Google still insists on scooping up all of our data. That's been the way of Google since the beginning. That's why they offer everything for free, because we are the product. They're scooping up our data and reselling it, and that's how they stay in business.

@robinebers Yeah, this is why I refuse to use Gemini at all, because even on the Pro plan, you cannot turn off training on your data without pretty much nerfing the whole app. There's not much privacy when it comes to Google products.
