Mike Rowe reveals Ford has 5,000 unfilled mechanic jobs paying $120,000 a year.

In a separation conversation with Shawn Ryan, Rowe said he visited a Texas data center and met three “debt-free” electricians under 30 making “north of $240,000/year.”

All three of those electricians have been “poached” three times in the last 18 months because the demand for electricians is crazy high.

Chances are, you'll take on a lot less debt, make a lot more money — and AI won't be coming for your job anytime soon.

THIS is how a government FAKES good GDP numbers to hide their failure.

Pump up the public payroll, call it growth, and hope nobody notices the private sector is carrying the load.

But we Canadians FEEL the failure.

Food banks packed with working people.
Housing out of reach.
Wages that don’t keep up.

Bigger bureaucracy does not equal a stronger country.

It equals a heavier burden on the people who actually create the wealth.

The math is broken.
And so is the country under this Liberal model.

You know what happens when most Canadians miss half their performance targets?

They don't get a bonus.
They get a meeting.
Maybe a warning.

If things don't improve, they get a cardboard box and a handshake.

Only in Ottawa can you miss nearly half your department's targets and still collect a performance cheque with a straight face.

Federal executives pocketed more than $200 million in performance pay while government departments met only about 54% of their stated performance targets. Nearly 98% of executives still received performance pay.

Meanwhile, Canadians are paying more for groceries, more for gas, more for mortgages, and a recent KPMG survey found 42% of manufacturers have already moved production to the U.S. or are considering it.

See the pattern?

In the private sector, performance determines your reward.
In Ottawa, your reward seems to determine how they'll define your performance.

That's the governing philosophy.
Not accountability.
Not value for taxpayers.

Just an insulated bureaucracy grading its own homework... and somehow still awarding itself an A.

The only workplace where failing half the test earns a bonus is the federal government. Everyone else has to live in the economy they're managing.

Canadians have watched Ottawa shovel tens of billions into EV battery plants, subsidies and corporate incentives, only to see projects delayed, scaled back, renegotiated or quietly rewritten. Now it's another $1.95 billion to "bring manufacturing home."

It's worrisome how that works.
Subsidize. Announce. Repeat.

This isn't an argument against manufacturing. Canada should be building locomotives, batteries, vehicles and just about everything else we can compete at. The question is:

Why does every industrial policy now begin with taxpayers writing a massive cheque?

We were promised the EV subsidies would create a self-sustaining manufacturing renaissance. Instead, Canadians keep becoming venture capitalists who never get a vote, while multinational corporations keep getting another deal.

At some point, you have to ask whether the #MarkCarney economic plan is to build an economy... or simply subsidize one.

If every industry needs a taxpayer bailout to survive, maybe the problem isn't Canadian workers.

✅ Researchers there were sick with COVID-like symptoms in fall 2019, before the first wet-market cases
✅ If natural origin evidence existed, it would have surfaced by now. It hasn't
✅ "Proximal Origin," the paper used to kill the lab-leak theory, was prompted by Fauci to push natural origin

Liberal whip Mark Gerretsen’s Instagram videos are very telling on what is happening inside the Liberal party.

He only does videos on issues that Liberals are forced to defend, meaning issues that are truly sticking negatively to Liberals.

Last week it was a defending the Prime Minister lying about the Gordie Howe bridge deal. (Which the PM admitted)

Today it is a video about the role of opposition.

He said opposition aka Conservatives shouldn’t question Mark Carney’s motives.

He said Conservatives should focus on their policy instead of trying to prove who Mark Carney really works for.

But why shouldn’t we question motives?

Motives determine priorities. Priorities determine policy. And policy determines who benefits.

When Canadians are struggling to afford homes, groceries and basic necessities, when productivity and GDP per person have stagnated, and when repeat violent offenders are cycling through the justice system, Canadians have every right to ask:

Who is this government working for?

For a decade, Liberal policies have increased government spending and debt, raised taxes and regulatory costs, failed to build housing fast enough to match population growth, and weakened bail laws while Canadians watched their standard of living deteriorate.

So yes, let’s debate policy.

Conservatives want lower income taxes so Canadians keep more of what they earn.

Build more homes by cutting taxes and bureaucracy, freeing federal land and rewarding municipalities that actually build.

Unlock Canadian energy, investment and resource development.

Control government spending and deficits.

And restore consequences for repeat violent offenders with stronger bail and sentencing laws.

But Gerretsen is wrong about one thing:

Policy does not make motive irrelevant. Policy is evidence of motive and priorities.

We should question why decisions are made. We should question whose interests are being prioritized. We should question whether the people making those decisions are serving Canadians first.

That isn’t a character attack.

That is accountability.

And when the Liberal Whip publicly tells the opposition to stop questioning the Prime Minister’s motives, my response is simple:

Why?

Why is that the question you don’t want asked?

3 years ago CBC ran a piece called “Recapturing our flag” The clip was meant to disparage those who waved it during the Convoy as a symbol of freedom & protest. Fast forward to today & it’s now ok to wave the flag by all of them as a symbol of freedom & protest against the U.S.
How captured are these individuals? Oh, what a triumph in Charlottetown!

Canada's premiers gathered in sunny P.E.I. for their annual First Ministers' Meeting, stared down the barrel of Trump's 50% tariffs, and... delivered exactly what we expected. More hot air, and one shiny MOU.

They rallied behind Carney with stirring declarations of "Team Canada" unity and "new urgency." Ford demanded everyone be "more vocal" against Trump (because yelling louder has historically worked so well). Everyone nodded in agreement about health transfers, major projects, and affordability.

The crowning achievement? Nine provinces signed an agreement to let us buy out-of-province booze directly. Amazing After decades of interprovincial trade barriers strangling the economy, they finally cracked the booze cabinet. Quebec sat it out, of course, because why spoil a good protection racket?

No plan to deal with Trump's wake-up call. Just vague promises to "intensify negotiations" while the clock ticks toward August 19. Another photo-op summit where Canada's leaders proved they're excellent at projecting confidence and terrible at actual delivery.

Canadians facing higher prices and economic pain can rest easy knowing their premiers had a constructive chat and some Island lobster. Problem solved.

On today’s episode of “Carney Can’t Make a Deal”…

@brianlilley just laid it out plain: Mark Carney doesn’t actually want a trade deal with the United States.

He says Carney keeps sending the Americans letters that basically say “let’s have more discussions about the discussions we already had.” Meanwhile, the U.S. side is asking for actual fixes and resolutions — not another round of photo ops and vague proposals.

Lilley’s point is brutal but accurate: fighting with Trump is politically valuable for Carney right now. His base loves the “elbows up” theatre. A lot of them are retired, their money is in the S&P 500, and plant jobs drying up in Ontario or Alberta doesn’t hit their retirement accounts.

So why settle when you can keep the fight going and stay popular with the people who voted for you?

Meanwhile, 50% tariffs on over 500 Canadian products are still scheduled to hit August 19th. Mexico is already in active rounds of talks. We’re still getting “we’ll intensify negotiations.”

This isn’t negotiation. This is managed decline dressed up as resistance.

Carney had one job: protect Canadian workers and get a deal done.

He’s failing on purpose because the failure polls better than the fix.
