@mfjlewis To this very day, whenever I have so much as requested a meeting of LESS THAN 5 MINS with almost ANY bishop, they not only refuse, but either ignore altogether, or they reply with sparky and personally insulting letters/emails that would shock(except that they no longer do.)

I DO know that Pope Francis had verbally told Bishop Fellay that he saw no problem with granting Papal Mandate.

@mfjlewis Yes, Pope Francis was quite good to us. Many times he received Bishop Fellay and Fr. Pagliarani. He seemed to appreciate that we actually had practical ministries to the poor etc.

@mfjlewis Oh yes it most certainly was and IS wrong. A bishop has an obligation to his priests, just as priests have obligations to their bishop as coworkers in his ministry.
If I were adjacent to the SSPX back then, wouldn't it have made far more sense to have simply gone to them?
