Don't just farm hard. Farm wisely.

Farming is not just about growing crops. It is about knowing what to do with what you grow.

You can have the best cucumber, sweetcorn or pepper on your farm, but if you don't understand your market, pricing, customer relationships, timing and cash flow, you can still struggle.

Before you plant, ask yourself:

Who am I growing for?

Where will I sell?

What will it cost me to produce?

What happens if the market changes?

Do I have buyers beyond just one person?

A farmer who thinks only about production is growing crops.

A farmer who thinks about production, market and profit is building a business.

This is what real resistance looks like.

1. Monsanto gifted Haiti seeds after an earthquake, expecting to be thanked, but instead 10,000 farmers lit them on fire in protest.

2. The leader of Zambia rejected GMO grain from the US donated as food aid, calling it poison and saying “we'd rather we starve than eat it”

3. Peru got so serious about protecting native crops that it banned GMOs until 2035.

The reason is simple: Every single one of these decisions was about rejecting the corporate control that takes power away from farmers. Lighting 475 tons of seeds on fire in Haiti wasn't a rejection of food, it was a rejection of dependency, since hybrid seeds can't be saved and replanted the way traditional seeds can.

Zambia's rejection came at the height of a famine, while millions faced starvation, which means the decision to say no anyway was about protecting long term sovereignty over short term relief. When Peru wrote GMO rejection directly into law, they were protecting over 4,000 native potato varieties and generations of seed knowledge held by 2.2 million small farming families. These are stories about who gets to control the seed, the soil, and ultimately the food supply. Every time a country or a farmer chooses to reject a corporate seed system, they're choosing to keep that power in their own hands instead.

But in Nigeria, we have a video of Government Officials, Lawmakers, and extremely brain-dead individuals, glossing over the chains on their wrists and their effort in chaining the country; celebrating their 10th Anniversary of destroying our native seeds, and spreading sickness and the increased use of pesticides in the country.
