@cnieuwhof You made a similar statement at an event I was at a few years ago that has changed my regular rhythms in life and ministry. You said “it’s not about your time off, but rather how you spend your time on that’s really key to longevity”. This helped me.
Lawson, we love you so much. We are thrilled to see how the Lord has lead you to this point and we can’t wait to see the fruit that he bears in you during this next season of life!
Big life moments seeming to sneak up on us quickly these days. Turned 40 today. Next week Lawson leaves for Central Asia doing missions work for 9 months. Linden’s a senior. And more big stuff on the horizon. Enjoying the journey with these awesome people!
After 3.5 years, I’m starting my final class for the M.Div. program at @SBTS. Thankful for the support of friends and family, and for Jared Blankenship for pushing me to get started. Almost to the finish line!
@maynard_clay Good stuff. Have you read the “trellis and the vine” and/or “vine project”? Both were formative in the similar changes in my own life that you’ve described.
Ever meet "Christians" that are obsessed by *one thing* like Calvinism, eschatology, prophesy, evangelism, spanking children, hospitality, prayer, loving your neighbor, church discipline, submission of children and wives, etc. ??
Do they have a false zeal?
Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones is talking about it in his Romans 10 Commentary.
