🇪🇺🇨🇳 Europe continues its biggest commercial break with China in history

China is responding with an internal lobbying offensive, using Austria and other highly exposed member states to weaken a common European position.

The EU cannot tolerate a €359.8 billion trade deficit with China, especially after it widened by 15% in a single year.

But Europe must avoid indiscriminate Trump-style tariffs, which raised US core prices by 0.8% and shifted almost 90% of the burden onto American firms and consumers.

The EU must instead target subsidised strategic sectors, sign new trade agreements with alternative partners, and strengthen public support for European production and innovation.

On this day we remember the victims of the Rainiai Massacre. As the Soviets retreated from Lithuania in June 1941, NKVD officers transported 76 prisoners from Telšiai Prison to the Rainiai forest. There, the prisoners were brutally tortured and murdered. Contemporary examinations documented broken limbs, crushed heads, mutilations, and other signs of severe abuse. The massacre became one of the most infamous atrocities of the first Soviet occupation of Lithuania and a lasting symbol of the suffering endured under totalitarian rule. We remeber🕯 🇱🇹

Suffered destruction during the Mongol invasion in the 13th century.

Was blown up during World War II.

Damaged by russians in 2026.

🤯 A Russian missile struck the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra

Following the overnight attack on Kyiv, the roof of the Dormition Cathedral caught fire. The cathedral is the main church of the monastery, founded nearly a thousand years ago and regarded as one of the most revered sites in Orthodox Christianity.

Ironically, Putin has repeatedly claimed that Orthodoxy and Russia are inseparable, saying that “with the adoption of Christianity and Orthodoxy, the Russian nation began to form as a single nation,” and that “Orthodoxy unites people of many different nationalities.”

That did not stop a Russian missile from hitting one of the most important Orthodox shrines in Ukraine.
