Litigation is the only area of practice that will never disappoint a lawyer. You can learn on the job with it.
For most other areas, you need a little bit of structure and hands-on practical experience before you can find your feet.
Professional Ethics..I saw it as the business course of law school. less about memorizing laws and sections more about how you actually carry yourself in practice and Being a football fanatic helped too. I practically memorised the RPC by translating the rules into football terms
This is why I like firms that rotate trainee associates across practice groups. Most people are unable to make informed decisions until they become lawyers and taste what they really want.
I've noticed something.
Ask 10 lawyers to recommend the best Bar Finals materials and you'll get 10 different answers.
Some swear by Kelvin.
Others won't use anything except Sarumi or OD
Then there are the Badmus and AGBATA loyalists.
Which would you pick and why?
@Chroniclesavy I run my own law practice so commercial litigation is one of the areas we specialize in. I must say, i fell in love with it the more i did it and my skill improved.
Back in varsity i thought I'd end up in corporate law/investment banking but life later on had other plans.
We all know that most of these Fulani herdsmen don’t use bank. They carry their money with them. Let’s keep pretending like we don’t know all these things because you are looking for bandit. If you see bandit, you can near them?
I am a Yoruba, but I am not blind to the truth. It’s Truth for Tribe for me. I stand by the Truth always. When the table turns, we can as well maintain consistency.
Many of the Yoruba nationalists and conservatives are also terrorists. You just don’t have access to guns. Time will tell .
There is no Church in Nigeria that has made an impact on Nigerians, in terms of employment, health, education and skills acquisition as much as RCCG has done. RCCG has also encouraged it's members to get involved in their core civic responsibility on election which is to vote and to be voted for.
I honestly don't understand the craze about chieftaincy titles?
you're a tired old man that should be in a nursing home but you're still in court fighting for a title!!!!
I'm so livid rn. Some Nigerians are just wicked people. they'll steal from you at every opportunity.
everyone wants to hold the govt accountable but they act like the govt in their places of business.
It's Aisha's own that annoys me the most. She should be in the Senate. She's smart and won't go along with the herd.
Independent candidates should be a thing atp. Or write-in votes.
Corruption has been deeply entrenched into the society that it is almost difficult to get a genuine result from any institutionalised body in Nigeria, public or private.
Peter Obi along with the NDC leaders are urging aspirants to accept primary results; Even when Aisha Yesufu has talked about irregularities that happened?
Someone who is supposedly fighting for a better Nigeria wants aspirants to accept a questionable result? OK.
