Just a reminder to all CHSAB Alumni, members of CHSAB Nation, and all the media outlets that have covered us over the years, we have officially made the switch over to Instagram. It’s been a great run with X but we have simply grown apart. https://t.co/uScPzVkF3I
Good News and Bad . Due to nearly crashing the X server multiple times over the years due to the heavy traffic that this account has garnered, we are officially moving over to Instagram. It’s been fun, but it’s time to move on. Follow us Instagram. https://t.co/eT9kaofhZY
The Commish could barely sleep last night reflecting on the fact that his 7th Period was able to get through his entire bus evacuation presentation WITHOUT having to start over once. Maybe all his Cougar Way lessons of “When the teacher is talking, you listen” have sunk in!
Today, The Commish debuted his bit where he starts an explanation over from the very beginning any time someone speaks while he is talking. Eddy Hyde, an All-CHSAB member last year, pretended to show disdain for this practice, but deep down, he was smiling.
Judging by Brody Sievertson’s hairdo, it looks like he is trying to ride the tidal wave of momentum from Conant’s 2nd Place in state finish in baseball. He’s looking to use Uncle Mo to gather a couple of league titles and MVPs for his trophy case at home.
Lot of big names have been claimed off the waiver wire from Maley’s Soph Wellness classes from last year. Landon Revane and Amurryon Perkins should be well schooled in The Cougar Way by now which should make them high value picks on draft day.
It’s been a long offseason. It’s almost time to see who’s been putting in the work this summer and who’s been playing video games. The Commish attended a seminar in July at Harvard titled “Taking Your Somewhat Fictitious Basketball League to a New Level” so be ready!
At the CHSAB, we don’t know much about baseball, but we do know that Kirchner is unassuming, coachable, and not entitled. In fact, he ran the pacer on the day of one of his starts without complaint. Factor those characteristics in with his stats, it seems like a no brainer.
Franklin Kirchner after his 2-hit shutout in the state semi: “Those 3 walks though. I can’t be walking guys like that.”
Reflecting on the biggest performance of his life, he’s focused on what he could have done better. 🤯
Better have woken up to 100 offers this morning.
A little over 2 months until 2024-2025 CHSAB season. The Commish is keeping his skills sharp by recruiting the best left-handed, non-potty-trained, Class of ‘40, point-forward in Ms. Tracy’s morning pre-school class that still cries incessantly for his mom to train with.
Once heard a coach of mine say “When your best players are good guys and leaders, success is much more likely.” Great to see that proven true by CHSAB greats Parpet, Gale, Kirchner and the rest of @Conant_Baseball. Amazing accomplishment. Congratulations!
Cougars (29-7) win their 13th in a row and are headed to the state finals in Joliet! Bryce Loeger a CG 9K performance. Matt Maize 3-3 and big RBIs from Isaiah Rhodes, Logan Gale, and Alex Martinez. Defense stellar. Final Four starts Friday night vs. York.
Easy team to root for with a lot of high character guys. Cougar Way Lesson of the Day: When you are a good guy, people pull for you to do well. Congrats to CHSAB All-Stars Parpet, Gale, and Kirchner.
Cougars (23-7) are MSL Champions with a 5-0 at Buffalo Grove. Bryce Loeger tosses a 1-hitter with 9Ks. Cooper Hanson had 2 hits and a big RBI 2B. Josh Barnett a big 2-out RBI in the 2nd. Cougars travel to Addison Trail Monday to conclude the regular season.
After a year of debate, on his last day in the CHSAB, Sai “The Atrium” Kodali finally admitted that The Commish used an arm bar and not his elbow on post-ups. This may have pushed him over the top for his HOFame bid. The CHSAB…where learning to admit when you’re wrong happens.
Seniors last day. We had to do a jersey exchange between one of the all-time greats, Twon Magee, and the Commish. Whether they were championship teammates or bitter rivals, there was always a healthy level of mutual respect.
The Commish is already working on his draft board for next year’s 2024-2025 CHSAB season. He granted permission for a youngster from Sophomore Wellness, Jahari Avery, to participate in today’s CHSAB exhibition after he completes his Final. Scouting Profile to follow….
Sai “The Atrium” Kodali is also a CHSAB legend, known for the range on his J. He still needs to learn the difference between an elbow and an arm bar, but that’s what college is for I guess.
He also had an incredible 2-Year Run in the CHSAB with multiple championships and a couple of MVPs on his resume. Glory is not given, it’s earned. Gale has certainly earned it. That said, he never could quite figure out how to stop The Commish in the low post.
Senior Spotlight: Logan Gale
Three year starter CF/P Logan Gale has produced in huge moments for the Cougars. His work ethic is second to none and his light hearted humor keeps our team relaxed. Logan will attend Parkland Community College and play baseball and study business.
In route to his championship today, The Commish was accused of manipulating the time clock in attempt to help his team win. Question: If The Commish were down 2 and he wanted to cheat, what would be the best way to do that?
The “Mr. Pena Game” will go down in the record books as one of the greatest beatdowns in CHSAB history. A morning basketball faux pas by Tyler Gorman resulted in a moment of silence and a 20-0 defeat courtesy of Tishaun Barfield, Yash Kala, and Vinesh Patel.
