Melvin Council, Jr. controlled the game on both ends of the floor from start to finish in the first semifinal game of the night. He played with great pace, knowing when to push in transition or slow it down to get his team organized.
He was methodical in the passing game, both in transition and half court, finishing the contest with a game-high 10 assists. He was especially efficient playing out of PnR, properly identifying whether to hit the pocket pass or fill behind pass.
When the offense would stall, he would attack and get downhill for an easy bucket.
Melvin was an irritant on the defensive end, too: contesting shots, hounding the ball, and clogging passing lanes.
He finished this one with 14p-6r-10a-3s.
