In my lifetime I have seen:

- the quality of our healthcare decline
- the quality of public education decline
- the quality of a University education decline
- the quality of our infrastructure decline
- entrepreneurship decline
- productivity decline
- access to homeownership decline
- upward mobility decline

We are again facing a ‘brain drain.’ Think about the consequences if young, educated people are leaving but our population is growing. (A country of old and uneducated people? How does that work.)

Yes, there have been bright lights and surges of optimism and progress along the way.

But I almost feel like we need a new vision for this country. Growth for the sake of growth without a plan to scale up access to public eduction, healthcare, University education, our infrastructure and housing will be a disaster. The cracks are already showing.

We could bust up the whole dream without a vision of what we want to become and without a plan for how to get there.

We need a National Commission on How to Accommodate Growth and Improve Quality of Life. Or something like that. But we need a Plan.

We are currently just watching this happen.
