🇺🇸Nationally We lost.
But … I’m not going away.
I don’t have deep things to say, but please consider following me. If we align, I will follow you.
But … I’m not going away.
I’m not part of the Political Chattering Class. I won’t engage in Whys and Wherefores. I won’t engage in Recriminations and Handwringing. I supported causes and candidates I believe are best for our country. I’m bitterly disappointed that the majority of my fellow Americans, (the ones who voted that is!!) didn’t agree.
But … I’m not going away.
I am very much concerned for the future of our Democracy and Constitutional Republic, but I’m not giving up. I will keep fighting for the causes I believe in. I’ll do my best with my limited resources.
But …I’m not going away.
We had a few local wins across the country, but at the national, state and local levels, generally the causes and candidates I support lost.
But … I’m not going away.
Despite many of our fears, we must Not consider this the last American Election. We must register people to vote. We must engage in the public square.
And…I’m not going away.
There will be many special elections in the coming months as MAGA Republicans at all levels get involved in government. We must get involved from the gitgo because these will be very short election cycles. We have the opportunity to begin chipping away at their “mandate.” I sure as heck don’t see it as such, but they do.
And…I’m not going away.
Sensible gun laws, women’s reproductive rights, LGBTQ rights, public education, libraries, free speech, physical and social media safety, religious freedom, housing rights, healthcare and many others are still very much worth fighting for.
And…I’m not going away.
Take the time you need to grieve, refresh, pray, sing, earn some more money, vacuum, wash the dishes, shower, do a little local retail therapy, pet a cat or a dog or ride a horse, play golf or football or soccer or basketball or game on line, play a board game, go out to dinner. Protect your and your family’s physical and mental health. I’m doing the same. I’ll engage when I can.
And…I’m not going away.
