Hi Cyprian, (ficha ID) kindly use your platform to appreciate and give flowers to security guards while they are still alive.
I had left upcountry on Sunday and dropped at Mombasa road-likoni road on Monday at 02:00 am. Nikatembea hapo airtel building nje ya gate nipandie gari ya Imara daima hapo.
Like 5 minutes, 3 guys came with a motorbike and stood in front of me. They were theives, nikapiga nduru as I was running away but nikaanguka, one picked my bag. Do you know the two security guard responded in zero seconds. Wakafungua na kutokea ... One thief had taken my bag when I failed down,, akiturn akaona soldiers wanatoka, ni kama alipanic aka-loose focus karibu aanguke and he dropped my bag. Akakimbia akapanda nduthi wakapotea.
Was it not for those askaris, maybe I could be in hospital or city mortuary.
The soldier you see standing at the gates of your office/ home deserves appreciation. May God bless them for us.
Thanks Nyakundi
You’ve been calling them Professors your whole life. The question is; Are Kenyan professors actually brilliant and the smartest people in the room OR we just have NEVER tested that assumption??
The Man Who Stole a University.
There is a particular kind of audacity that the world is not prepared for.
Not the audacity of genius. The audacity of a man who simply decides, one ordinary morning, that the rules were written for other people and then spends a decade proving himself right.
Brian Daniel Ouma Okeyo started as a driver
His assignment was straightforward: drive for Chancellor Dr. Vijoo Rattansi at the University of Nairobi.
And Brian Ouma was its chauffeur adjusting mirrors, holding doors, navigating Nairobi traffic.
But somewhere between the driver’s seat and the Chancellor’s office door, something shifted inside him.
He began telling people he was her personal assistant. Then her bodyguard.
Small reframings at first the kind that are easy to dismiss if you’re not paying attention.
And here is the first lesson Kenya should have learned: nobody was paying attention. “He walked like he belonged”
Doors opened. That was all he needed.
Armed with confidence of a Bachelor of Philosophy degree from Rome’s Pontifical Urbaniana University a credential not recognised in Kenya, Ouma began his ascent.
He didn’t knock on doors anymore. He pushed them off their hinges.
He arm-twisted senior officials. He leveraged proximity to power. Fear and mystery. Two tools more powerful than any MBA.
Then came the masterstroke.
The position of Chief Operations Officer simply does not exist in the University of Nairobi’s statutory instruments.
The council created it without varying the university charter. There was no such role. No legal framework for it. No precedent.
Brian Ouma allegedly helped create the position, then walked into it.
He was appointed Acting Chief Operations Officer, responsible for overseeing all administrative non-academic departments and managing the day-to-day operations of the varsity.
A driver. Overseeing operations at Kenya’s flagship university. Without a recognised qualification to his name.
He reportedly went further. He drafted proposals to strip the Vice-Chancellor of authority and centralise power under his new desk.
He allegedly argued that a Vice-Chancellor need not be a professor at all, that their domain was the classroom, not the institution.
He is said to have wanted the Vice-Chancellorship itself.
One man saw through him early. Prof. George Magoha, then Education Cabinet Secretary, refused to endorse Ouma’s appointment.
Turned him away. Ouma allegedly swore it would not be forgotten.
Years later, when Magoha sought the title of Emeritus Professor at UoN, his path was mysteriously blocked.
Prof. Magoha is now deceased. Those who knew him say he warned about Ouma repeatedly. He was not heard.
What followed was not merely corruption. It was a siege.
Vice-Chancellors fell one after another; Profs. Mbithi, Mbeche, Ogot, Ogeng’o, and Kiama. Prof. Stephen Kiama, who had served as Vice-Chancellor since January 2020, was suspended from his position in August 2024.
Ouma’s faction filed over 400 court cases, turning Kenya’s judiciary into a slow, grinding weapon against institutional reform.
Directors who questioned him faced transfers. Appointments were revoked.
Ouma allegedly received salaries totalling over KSh 32 million between 2015 and 2025 while occupying positions including Deputy Director of Fundraising, Director of Advancement, and Acting Chief Operations Officer roles for which investigators say he was unqualified.
Today, the University of Nairobi carries over KSh 13 billion in pending bills.
The tragedy is not Brian Ouma.
The tragedy is the culture that made him possible. The unverified papers.
The real question the one that should keep every Kenyan awake:
How many institutions are being run by men whose papers nobody has ever checked?
Hello @KenyaPower_Care an employee of yours called Michael 014 1231542 is asking me for a bribe so that he doesn’t disconnect my power yet I have a paid bill. He says the disconnection is because I paid “late” by a day. What games are you people playing in those offices of yours?
1. Fuel problems entered when Ruto brought the G-2-G deal.
2. Medical problems entered when Ruto brought in SHA.
3. Education problems entered when Ruto brought the new funding model.
4. Child trafficking problems entered when Ruto opened borders.
Name them.
The race of who is the most useless Minister ever in the independent Kenya is so hotly contested😂😂😂
Today Morning, Mbadi opened a lead only for Murkomen to leapfrog him this evening. Opiyo Wandayi has gathered some last minute energy and they are neck to neck with Duale.
Hi,
It is likely that there has been hundreds of arrests across the country, if you know anyone arrested from today's demos and they are in need of legal help kindly DM or reach out to @KumbiTrace with details i.e, Name, Location and contact of next of kin.

Saudi Aramco sells diesel to Kenya at Ksh. 60 per litre, we seriously need to discuss how that equates to LANDED COST of Ksh. 167 the moment it reaches Port Of Mombasa. Insurance and freight costs can't be double the cost of the product, so who is stealing?
#RejectFuelPrices
Kenya hukuwa one big crime scene, OCS anaachilia watu wa protest then anashikwa juu ya same reason, Kenyans wakaamua kumwendea mahali ameshikwa and he's now a free man 😂😂
Whoever came up with the phrase cheap is expensive certainly never fueled at Astrol Petrol Station.
1. It is 100% Kenyan, founded in 2000 by the late Thayu Kamal Kabugi and is now run by the son, James Mwangi.
2. They not only own the land their stations are built on to cut costs but also manage their stations directly rather than franchising.
3. Their fuel contains a high 91 PON rating, which is higher than the premium fuels around, including V-Power.
4. They are not only 2 - 7 shillings cheaper but also never hoard fuel whenever there are shortages.
We don’t appreciate such companies enough
STATE HOUSE APPOINTMENT SCAM— THE NANOK NAME SWAP THAT STINKS OF CORRUPTION, IMPUNITY
What the Documents Show
Treasury CS John Mbadi Ng’ongo wrote an official letter nominating 4 persons for appointment as Members of the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF) Board, to be forwarded for parliamentary vetting per Circular Ref. OP/CAB.9/1A dated 25th November 2025.
The 4 names in Mbadi’s letter were: Ms. Komora Yvonne Nsunsu; Ms. Manyaga Yvonne Boyani; Mr. Mutua Fidelis Kieti; and Mr. Ahmed Diriye Mohammed.
The “concurrence letter” from Deputy Chief of Staff Josphat K. Nanok, responding on behalf of the Office of the President, however, lists a different fourth name: Morris Putita Kaaka — in place of Ahmed Diriye Mohammed.
The first 3 names are identical in both letters. Only the fourth was switched — a targeted, deliberate substitution.
🔴 The Institutional Chain — Who Has Authority Here?
@koske_felix serves as Chief of Staff and Head of the Public Service, with @GovernorNanok as his Deputy Chief of Staff at @StateHouseKenya.
Nanok is therefore the second most powerful official in the Executive Office of the President — and the man who signed the “concurrence” letter that swapped the nominee.
The “concurrence” process — routed through OP/CAB.9/1A — is supposed to be a formal approval check, not a substitution mechanism. It is not a power to override a Ministry’s substantive recruitment decisions.
🔴 Why This Is Serious Corruption
The NG-CDF Board appointment process involves: open public recruitment → competitive vetting → a shortlist submitted by the Cabinet Secretary for Treasury → parliamentary vetting → gazette notice. This is a long, merit-based process with multiple safeguards.
By the time a name reaches the CS’s nomination letter to Parliament, it has already survived competitive recruitment. Substituting a name at the “concurrence” stage means someone jumped the entire queue without competing.
The swap was surgical — three names kept, one swapped — suggesting Morris Putita Kaaka was specifically inserted by State House influence, bypassing the @PSCKenya process and the competitive shortlisting.
This is not a clerical error. Two separate official letters, two different names — one from Treasury, one from State House. The discrepancy is deliberate.
🔴 The Circular OP/CAB.9/1A — What It Actually Means
Circular OP/CAB.9/1A of 25th November 2025 governs the appointment of Chairpersons, Board Members, and CEOs of State Corporations. It is a procedural instrument setting out the roles of the appointing authority and the concurring authority.
The “concurrence” role of the Chief of Staff / Deputy Chief of Staff is to verify compliance with the process — not to substitute candidates. Using it to insert a preferred name is an abuse of the concurrence function.
🔴 The Broader Accountability Picture
If Nanok signed the concurrence letter inserting Kaaka, the question is: on whose instructions? The Deputy Chief of Staff does not act unilaterally — instructions flow from the Chief of Staff and ultimately from the President.
Ahmed Diriye Mohammed — the dropped nominee — was the product of a fair, open, competitive process. His removal without cause, at the final pre-parliamentary stage, is a violation of his constitutional rights under Articles 10, 27, and 232 (national values, equality, and public service values
@NAssemblyKE is being sent a falsified shortlist — one that does not reflect the outcome of the competitive process. Vetting a name that wasn’t competitively recruited corrupts the parliamentary oversight function entirely.
Mr Nanok didn’t respond to COFEK inquiries
🔴 Public Interest Action Points
The @ODPP_KE and @EACCKenya should investigate whether the substitution constitutes abuse of office under the Anti-Corruption and Economic Crimes Act
Parliament must vet these nominees must demand the original recruitment records and verify that all four names
2 years ago, I designed this home as a prototype for alternative modern living in Nigeria.
Conceptual location📍: Enugu, Nigeria.
The idea was simple:
Could a home in a hot climate feel cooler, calmer, brighter, and more connected to nature without depending heavily on AC?
Here are 6 design principles explored in the project:

10M was budgeted for the Egypt Skate game by the Ministry of Sports, but Kevin Kiarie was not sponsored.
He paid for his ticket to Egypt and was nearly chased away after Kenya failed to pay the affiliation fees of 300 dollars.
