Alex Janvier has died.
Born in 1935 at Le Goff Reserve in Alberta, he was one of the Indigenous Group of Seven.
A pioneer of contemporary Canadian Indigenous Art and a modernist artist, his work often drew from the cultural and spiritual traditions of the Dene people.
