@JackHorwood@jayney_mack@tweetsimonm@glastonbury Yep exactly. Going for the 10th time. Last time I bought my own ticket was in 2011. Have also worked/ volunteered twice. When there is a will there is a way... @tweetsimonm you should try looking at alternative routes in if you're that keen.. there is still time!!
@dontg0dark The more people trying for you the (marginally) higher your odds are. Perseverance pays off. When there is a will there is a way.. Thisll be my 10th, worked 2 and last bought my own ticket in 2011... The new system is fairer but also reduces your odds vs old sale process.
@mariboustate Typical shambles from See tickets. It was just like trying to get Glasto tix...If it's true Coldplay tix went on sale at the same time that's piss poor planning.
@CarsmileSteve@QueuesPub#Glasto was a shocker @QueuesPub.. this was a bar at West Holts. Long queues snaking from the bar with lots of space in between. I walked through at the side and got served straight away, alongside other sensible peeps who could see sense!
@Panda561@DanielHewittITV Maybe landlords shouldn't have overleveraged their investments. See also comm landlords. Are they raising rents? No. Why? Because unlike the broken resi market they cant. It's the very same low rates environment that inflated values stopping young families buying stability.
@yeastieboys@PortmanGroup I remember when they went after @RattlerCyder causing Rattler to go through the expense of a short-lived brand change because the snake branding "could" appeal to children. Pathetic. Especially considering the explosion of craft beers since.
@PeckhamVision@PositiveMoneyUK You do realise it is the post GFC low rates environment that has meant housing has become unaffordable for a generation. This is misguided. Low rates ballooned asset values by encouraging banks to lend cheaply. Rates normalising is good in the long term weaning us off cheap debt.
@SansburyPaul @AvaSantina An unfortunate feature of a broken housing market where landlords can pass on risk like this. Commercial landlords could never do this and some face rightsizing their debt via equity in
the face of rates normalising. They can't just milk commercial tenants, not enough demand.
@ACAPeckham For balance this is what the local skyline actually looks like. Witcombe, Grasmere and Windermere Point already stick out like sore thumbs. Are these fine bc they are post war social? This is a well connected location in Z2 which fits higher density development.
@danhancox@Morrisons You're having a laugh, remember Morrisons is now PE owned. It's a race to the bottom, asset stripping this co while lashing on the debt.
@hannahrosewoods The irony of course is this is probably a boomer talking about the lived experience of their forgotten generation parents who specifically voted to lift following generations living standards out of this life. For their children to reciprocate by 'pulling up the drawbridge'.
@J_Elliott94 Need to read the report but also key include low interest rates since GFC which also fueled overseas interest in UK resi thanks to the returns this enables. Unacceptable overseas fund managers raise $bn funds specifically to acquire scrappy UK housing stock. Unacceptable.
@cupie_doll Slightly different context but this is also a surviving remnant of Liverpool's working class housing. For better of worse working class history of our cities has been erased over time.
@jimwaterson@peckhampeculiar Architects proposals were watered down it looks like. From corrugated iron to corrugated glass to Brittas Empire. These are the renders from the planning submission. @peckhampeculiar
@joeinpoole @DrBSparkes @hannahrosewoods That's because the RN down ranked everyone. A PO today is a CPO of yesterday. Plus you're using a very narrow example to justify your view. What's the avg house price in Plymouth? The fact is QE has turbocharged property and pensions at the expense of younger generations.
@SouthernRailUK it appears youre cancelling all the Portsmouth bound services from Ford. Missed connection from late train now this. Can you muster up some crew for at least one service before the days over??
