Many talk about Kris's jealousy, but no one talks about how Susie is kind of the same, regardless of whether she likes Kris or not; the concept of Susie being possessive about her relationship with Kris because it's her first bond in her life👀👀👀
@pottetto__ My theory is that she wasn't intentionally killed by the father, but that he genuinely mistook her for an animal and killed her accidentally, and out of hunger they decided on the worst🥲
@elin4jean I think these sexist and even somewhat homophobic ideas were created both from the fact that they are very excluded, due to their context, the fire nation had decimated almost all the waterbenders of the south and the north was constantly fighting to avoid being invaded.
@elin4jean Honestly, it doesn't surprise me that the Water Tribe is the most conservative; it's the most isolated nation (including the Air Nomads, but their philosophy was different) and has more archaic and sexist ideas than Katara dealt with in the Northern Tribe.
