I love the bizarre responses we get from shopkeepers when we are buying for our #research field trips. This next experiment will require 25 baby kickboards, 100 pickle jars, 3L of glue, and 4 pool noodles. @BlueCarbonLab
@interactivate Yep. One enquirer was displeased that a graphic panel did not give enough recognition to her grandfather for his work in conserving platypuses. After some detective work, I realized (and advised) that she was referring to an NMA display...and she still wasn't happy
Great podcast about Ward Fleming who created pin screen toys and Exploratorium exhibits from the late 1970s. He talks about his philosophy on process, outcomes and deeply observing phenomena (also a nice anecdote about people using an exhibit in unexpected ways) https://t.co/C875NOBkp1
NEW EPISODE - “Preparing the Field” Ward Fleming invented the pin screen, but you probably didn’t know that it was just one short stop in a lifelong research project that leads into the heart of molecules and the core of Jupiter itself. Enjoy! https://t.co/6HJvF0UL0v
These circuit tiles are a great way to introduce lights, motors, switches and more to just one budding explorer or an entire class working together. https://t.co/XOGWrR8yX0 @instructables via @Makerspaces_com#STEM#Tinkeringforall
I’m excited to find out one of my ideas (adapted from someone else) has been further adapted for UTS Science Summer School and may further be adapted for some of the actual Uni subjects in the future. #depthstudy.
