Always told my teams you can raise a high school average 100 to 200 points if you are a superior bunter with some speed. So a .300 hitter who can really bunt… is .450 to possibly .500. Plus it wins games.
#1-9 hitters in HS lineup should all be able to sac, drag, push, slash, H&R, squeeze and safety squeeze. This opens up so many opportunities besides being a one dimensional HS hitter. And an added bonus is these skills improve barrel awareness and barrel manipulation. Meaning you become a better hitter when swinging.
For the freshman that didn’t make the opening road trip. I didn’t either. Didn’t get an AB until 4 weeks into the season. Of the guys on that trip, ZERO are still playing. Only 2 of them played professionally. I’m playing my 9th professional season this year.
It’s not the end.
First off I would like to give all thanks to my lord and savior Jesus Christ. I would then like to give thanks to my coaches, teammates, and parents for all they’ve done. With all that being said I’m excited to announce I will be committing to Hocking College.
