ANNOUNCEMENT:
CinemaAttic has decided that we can no longer in good conscience continue to post on Twitter/X. To keep up with all the amazing events we have in store for December and beyond, you can find us on the other place (image below).
SPIRIT OF MEKAS: Experimental Short Films
CinemaAttic will be screening a selection of contemporary experimental films from Ibero-America, each a bold exploration of doubt, identity, and transformation.
We hope everybody had as much fun as we did, and we look forward to seeing you all again for our 'Spirit of Mekas' November events, where we will be celebrating experimental and analogue film. 📽️

That's it for October! We spent the month exploring and celebrating Colombia in all its dualities, with a great selection of short films and panel discussions. We also partnered with @IW_Archives and @tapecollective to shine a spotlight on luchadora films and their female stars.
We will be in Craigmillar Library at 5.45pm TODAY with our 8mm projection of KRONOS, a sci-fi gem in which scientists investigate a meteor that crashes into the ocean off Mexico, and encounter a machine designed to syphon energy from earth.
As always, entry is completely free.
Happy 30th Birthday to the National Lottery!
Our work bringing a world of amazing films and events to our community receives gamechanging support from the National Lottery and National Lottery players.
Thank you! #NationalLottery30@BFI@BFI_Industry@LottoGoodCauses#BFIFAN
Next come along to Craigmillar Library (6th Nov, 5.45pm) for a screening of KRONOS (dir. Kurt Neumann), a sci-fi gem in which scientists investigate a meteor that crashes into the ocean off Mexico and encounter a huge mobile machine designed to syphon energy from earth.
SPIRIT OF MEKAS 📽️
November is our Spirit of Mekas month, where we look to celebrate all things analog and experimental. To start us off we have our monthly FREE film clubs at Morningside and Craigmillar.
Join us at Morningside Library (5th Nov, 2pm) for Charlie Chaplin's THE GOLD RUSH, about a gold prospector in Alaska struggling to survive the elements and win the heart of a dance hall girl. Witness the wonder of early cinema and laugh along with Chaplin’s timeless comedy.
Thanks so much to @CinemaAttic for inviting us to be part of this powerful screening and discussion. Thanks also to @san_hervas for the beautiful Altar de los Muertos - acts of remembrance, solidarity and hope
