AT LAST!!!
After 40 years of uncertainty, we finally have a chance to own our forever home.
We need to raise £500,000 to purchase our building and secure the home of cinema history, but we need to do that by December,.
Please give if you can https://t.co/vxlySOgRnA
At the end of September I'll be introducing two of Martin and Lewis's biggest technicolor hits
@CinemaMuseum: Living It Up (1954) and You're Never Too Young (1955). Come along and see what all the fuss is about! https://t.co/iKqHn9fWx3
We're heartbroken , Brian Robinson left us yesterday. Best known for his programming work for BFI Flare, His dry sense of humour, quick wit and fashion sense was always the highlight of any festival that he worked on or appeared in - here he is in TROUSER BAR
A huge loss
It'd be great if any fans of @TalkingPicsTV#TPTV could help out with this.
The Cinema Museum in Kennington is a gem with a very important collection. Even £1 could help. It's housed in the very Workhouse where Charlie Chaplin was kept as a child. Please donate and RT!
Sad to hear puppeteer Ronnie Le Drew has died, at 78. Almost 500 episodes of Rainbow handling the eponymous Zippy, plus stints on the Sooty Show & films inc the Muppet Christmas Carol, and Labyrinth made @ElstreeStudios, Ronnie was a master of his craft & a thoroughly lovely chap
Such sad news about Bill Oddie, a Renaissance Man genius, but here's the lovely conversation we had about his amazing comedic musical contribution to The Goodies on @BBCFrontRow back in 2018. More on tonight's programme https://t.co/p1VRTQzbGi
John Ronnie’s son here.
We’re devastated to announce that Dad passed away this morning, after a brief illness.
We’re all grieving and sorry for our loss of such a sweet beautiful man.
John, Liz and family

An incredibly sad day here at TPTV as we heard the news that we have lost the multi-talented Bill Oddie. Comedian, musician, presenter, conservationist the list just goes on and on. A true friend to our channel too – thank you Bill, you will be deeply missed.
Farewell Bill, most radical of the Goodies. Present at Grosvenor Square with Tariq Ali & Vanessa Redgrave. Turned his harassment by the Met into slapstick TV comedy for kids. (The Goodies episode Give Police A Chance.) Angry, hairy, furiously talented.
So sorry to hear about Bill Oddie…
A terrific bloke who survived many challenges…
I met him first when I auditioned for Doctor In The House in1968,which he co-wrote in the early years
RIP Bill
still riding the high of programming The Caddy @CinemaMuseum the other night. who knew so many people wanted to watch Jerry Lewis shriek and me shriek about Martin and Lewis!
I am very heartened by the news that Hollywood’s Cinerama Dome and the former ArcLight multiplex are set to reopen, like a phoenix from the ashes. I spent so much time there during my years in Los Angeles and was deeply saddened when it closed in 2020.
Today it was announced that @alamodrafthouse, in partnership with Sony Pictures, will restore and reopen the legendary Cinerama Dome under its original name and branding, while the former ArcLight Hollywood complex will become the 14-screen Alamo Drafthouse Hollywood. Congratulations to Sony head honcho Tom Rothman and Drafthouse owner Tim League for leading the charge.
I have a long history with the Cinerama Dome and the ArcLight. All my movies from 'Shaun of the Dead' through 'Baby Driver' played at the Dome, and the complex was consistently the highest-grossing theater for my films. I had some very memorable Q&As there (including a rather tipsy one for 'Hot Fuzz') as well as a premiere and a Cornetto Trilogy marathon for 'The World’s End', and a whole weekend of appearances when 'Baby Driver opened'. Were you at any of them?
Driving past the site over the last few years has been really sad. It felt like an open wound for the moviegoing community, so I’m thrilled that it will return and join the newly thriving theatrical scene in Los Angeles.
I also have to give huge kudos to @SaveYourCinema, who has campaigned tirelessly for the Cinerama Dome and the ArcLight to reopen. He never gave up, and I am guessing he is extremely happy and proud this morning.
