Instead of treating the streets like a classroom, Alonzo throws Jake straight into the action and makes it clear that hesitation can have consequences.

The line perfectly captures Alonzo’s attitude, he doesn’t ask people to respect his authority, he makes them fear it.

For Jake, it’s an early glimpse into the harsh, intimidating world he’s just stepped into.
