Seeing the world one film festival at a time from London

Analysis of Film Dialogue by Gender: 2,000 scripts, 25,000 actors, 4 million lines https://t.co/meT5bBrJkd #bechdeltest #gendergap

[CineWorldLND @CineWorldLDN]

@WTPFilmFestival no, so I went to the #LKFF instead at the @RegentStCinema - sorry to miss it but didn't want to risk being turned away

[CineWorldLND @CineWorldLDN]

@elazic I enjoyed it too but don't give it such glowing reviews! Amusing but not hilarious, touches issues but too lightly, not that shrewd

[CineWorldLND @CineWorldLDN]

Agree! Lots of interesting themes touched on with humour https://t.co/hfsrnAzBCe

[Fareed Ben-Youssef @Fareedonfilm]

Libelous @tumblr, incriminating @facebook. #InBedWithVictoria posits social media as an unmasking mode where animal gazes thrive #Cannes2016

[CineWorldLND @CineWorldLDN]

@jessicakiang I agree that the composite of characteristics for Victoria didn't quite add up to a convincing plausible whole person

[CineWorldLND @CineWorldLDN]

Gallic vibe of #InBedWithVictoria gives us a better class of hot mess rom-com than Bridget Jones, still a bit trite though @lefrenchfilmfes

[CineWorldLND @CineWorldLDN]

Despite shrink, mystic, acupuncturist etc Victoria has to help herself & find fulfillment in her own time @ifru_london @lefrenchfilmfes

[CineWorldLND @CineWorldLDN]

The twat ex husband in #InBedWithVictoria by far the best role, so believably arrogant, smug & selfish.. hilarious, exasperating & punchable

[CineWorldLND @CineWorldLDN]

In Bed with Victoria @ifru_london was middling - the kind of film I'd settle on watching for killing time with on a long flight #fff2016

[CineWorldLND @CineWorldLDN]

I did find Victoria funny overall but her shambolic, selfish & lax behaviour left me unsympathetic @ifru_london @jessicakiang @CasparSalmon

[CineWorldLND @CineWorldLDN]

@jessicakiang @CasparSalmon I'm torn between both perspectives here! Her glum blank 6months as mum w/out work was not flattering/sympathetic

[CineWorldLND @CineWorldLDN]

@unam_losangeles could you be a ⭐ & share/support please? Latin American Cinema 4all, 4free, in London this month &for past 25yrs! #LLAFF https://t.co/gaKqUCH8KK

[LLAFF @llaffestival]

We count on our friend's support to help #LLAFF continue screening the best of LatAm film for free - https://t.co/ZrIJoWYTsa. #NoPasses

[CineWorldLND @CineWorldLDN]

@maziart angry guy sitting on the floor, supporting lex talionis & saying girls shouldn't wear stockings - 👓dude had some whack opinions too

[CineWorldLND @CineWorldLDN]

@midnightmovies did you see any films from the @LondonIranianff? Lantouri was the only one I caught, & I liked it!

[CineWorldLND @CineWorldLDN]

@midnightmovies 💔 the scene where the therapists have them recreate their worst memories to process them then reimagine preferred outcomes 😢

[CineWorldLND @CineWorldLDN]

@midnightmovies agree! The resignation when discussing horror marriages seemed both mundane & desperate, lots of restrained emotion #Sonita

[CineWorldLND @CineWorldLDN]

@InspireMeKorea @koreanfilmfest yes! Saw Paju last night & coming to The Hunt, Cart & A Blue Mouthed Face! #LKFF 🎥

[CineWorldLND @CineWorldLDN]

@midnightmovies which scenes stood out for you? The entry procedure to go into the hotel past armed guards etc I thought was confronting

[CineWorldLND @CineWorldLDN]

@midnightmovies gripping 2👀 #Sonita push thru obstacles keeping her ⬇; sympathetic but useless rec studios, withdrawal of centre's support

[CineWorldLND @CineWorldLDN]

@midnightmovies optimism & scepticism duelling when I contemplate reach/effectiveness of #endchildmarriage campaigning: change takes time 😞
