i’m pretty firm on my stance against generative ai. i believe it’s contributing to collective cognitive decline. it devalues creative works. it’s bad for the environment. i don’t really see myself changing my opinion on it. it’s just not for me.

@DixieJoon7 The ad is for Gemini? So yes it is about Gemini/ genai specifically? I can be upset about that without needing to tackle the entirety of tech internet social media infrastructure. There’s bad and there’s worse and we can fight against the worse without having to tear it all down

@DixieJoon7 I can’t change all of society. But I can choose to fight against things I believe are harmful, while still understanding I live in a society inherently flawed. I love the tannies and I believe part of that love is speaking up when worth fighting for, as they taught me 💜

@DixieJoon7 Ah but I don’t complain about BTS every single day, I mostly post about how much I love them! I use social media but I don’t use grok, ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, etc. The idea that you have to either “get off all tech” or “just be ok with genAI” is reductionist & overly simplistic

@busanbruises The part that is hard for me is they have built this brand over years and years to the point where they have enough $$ and clout to be picky what they sign up to do. They don’t have to just take every offer bc they’re desperate. They should be smart what they cosign w their brand

artistic integrity and ai don’t mix. positives of ai can’t go unchecked by the environmental and community harm they still cause, and in the arts,,, it does not work whatsoever. when you lose the arts to ai, you lose a fundamental part of humanity, that’s the road we’re on

Men love to talk about the fertility crisis but my spicy hot take is that there are just not enough good men to have babies with. This has been true forever, but now women have the means and social license to just not have kids with violent, stupid, lazy, or incompetent men.
