@Ojuthefoureyed@OtakuWarrior720@batmanisbett3r So publication it's what defines something as a manga? What about Doujinshis are they "manga"? Would you call the work of a Japanese artist who studied american comics, using western techniques and self published their american inspired comic a manga?
@OtakuWarrior720@batmanisbett3r I included Radiant because it highlighted that despite it being French it still got a anime adaptation, but now that I think about it, doesn't mean much since Witchblade got one too. Still, it's much more japanese inspired than the original witchblade.
@OtakuWarrior720@batmanisbett3r What's the criteria for calling something manga then? Japanese publisher? So is doujin not manga then? What about international contests? Publishers call the works manga...It's just a very silly discussion about a loanword that doesn't make much sense if you think about it enough
@OtakuWarrior720@batmanisbett3r No/Name is an award winning series shortly published by shueisha as a "manga", made by non Japanese creators. So is it a manga or not?
@3rbiKairo@Kazoo4rent@unonumero_56 True cause It gets THAT bad later, no amounts of nitpick needed you get actual arc sized amounts of pacing issues down the road with Dressrosa and friends, but OP fans love random henchman reaction shots and repeated animation
