Well... your phone maintains a system-level notification database. Every push notification you receive iMessage, Signal, WhatsApp, email, and so on gets logged there. this database is separate from the apps themselves.

this means: deleting a message inside Signal does not delete the notification that arrived when it was sent. that notification text, who it was from, when it arrived, sometimes what it said sits in the database independently.

Law enforcement forensic extraction tools can pull text from deleted notifications, including those from secure messaging apps.

How law enforcement accesses this without the extraction tool:
→ Apple and Google both require a judge's order to hand over push notification data
→ even with that bar, Apple shares data on hundreds of users
→ governments have also used this to identify anonymous users in 2023 it emerged the DOJ quietly subpoenaed Apple and Google for notification records to unmask political dissidents

Anyway, Apple pushed iOS 26.4.2 in April 2026 specifically to address this; notifications marked for deletion should now actually be removed from the database. If you haven't updated, you're still exposed.

Android has no equivalent patch confirmed yet.

What to actually do:
→ update iOS immediately if you haven't

→ in Signal: Settings → Notifications → Show → "No Name or Message" — this stops the content from appearing in the notification at all, meaning nothing sensitive gets logged

→ disable lock screen notification previews for any sensitive app

→ audit notification access: Settings → Notifications

→ check which apps have it and revoke anything that doesn't need it

Messi went to the World Cup and came back with 0 goals in his prime and a season he won the Ballon d’Or.

Mbappe lowest world cup goals so far is 4 goals and he has never been knocked out of the World Cup before the final.

So if the World Cup is the metric, Mbappe is the greater player than both Messi and Ronaldo.

The problem with so many Messi fans is that they think the GOAT debate begins and ends with talent and aesthetics....and speaking of talent, Ronaldo has enough talent to belong in any conversation about natural ability. You people have just chosen to ignore how outrageously gifted he actually was.

Messi has surpassed Maradona by every single metric goals, assists, club trophies, individual accolades, and delivering a World Cup alongside Copas Maradona never won. Claiming otherwise is brainless. There is no 40% poll you liar. You manufactured that out of your ass to cope.

To say Messi had everything on a platter just proves you don't watch football with your actual eyes. Someone who carries broken teams on his back, scores the most solo goals in the history of the sport and creates everything out of absolutely nothing does not have a platter.

You have no point on his temporary international retirement. He came back, took total accountability and then anchored the team to win three consecutive international trophies. Whatever happened before is meaningless.

Messi is quite literally a better goalscorer than Ronaldo. He has a vastly superior goals per game ratio, way less penalty goals, and he achieves this while simultaneously being the greatest dribbler and playmaker on earth. Ronaldo is a penalty box poacher who relies entirely on service. MESSI IS THE SERVICE, the dictator of the tempo, and the finisher all in one.

Negreira case or trying to link it to Messi's talent is just dumb. Referees didn't dribble past players for him. Off pitch noise takes absolutely nothing away from raw, on pitch footballing ability. That’s the ultimate distinction here Messi fans just need to talk about the actual 90 minutes of greatness on the pitch, while you lot have to look for every conspiracy under the sun to cope.

You can live in your delusional fantasy bubble and pretend no amount of Ballon d'Ors or World Cups will change your mind, but your refusal to accept the truth doesn't change objective reality. You are asking people to “act like they went to school,” yet you are using GOAT as though it means any footballer who was exceptionally talented.

It does not.

GOAT means the Greatest of All Time, and that claim must be tested against the highest level of football available. The World Cup is the sport’s ultimate competition. A player cannot be crowned the greatest footballer ever without conquering football’s greatest stage. Club trophies, goals, longevity and individual awards can place someone among the greatest players, but the GOAT standard must include a World Cup.

That immediately removes Cristiano Ronaldo from the GOAT category. He is an all-time great goalscorer with an extraordinary club career, but he never won the World Cup. Calling him a GOAT simply because he is one of the best players ever is exactly the same misuse of language you displayed by applying the term to Ronaldinho and several other legends.

Messi, meanwhile, completed the entire football résumé: elite goalscoring, historic playmaking, record individual recognition, sustained club dominance, continental success and, crucially, the World Cup, where he was also named the tournament’s best player. He does not merely possess a GOAT “claim”; he satisfies the full standard.

Ronaldinho is a legend. Ronaldo is an all-time great. Messi is the GOAT. These categories are not interchangeable simply because you admire all three.

And calling people “mad,” “foolish” or uneducated for correcting your misuse of a very simple term does not make your argument stronger. It only creates the peculiar spectacle of someone questioning everybody else’s intelligence while repeatedly failing to understand the words at the centre of his own argument.

Appreciating Ronaldo’s greatness is not the same thing as manufacturing “two GOATs” to protect him from comparison.

Nobody serious denies Ronaldo is one of football’s greatest ever players. The problem is that some people only became comfortable with “two GOATs” when Messi completed football and the argument became harder to sustain.

There is also a difference between respecting greatness and moving the goalpost. When Messi had no international trophy, it was used aggressively against him. When he won Copa América, it became “not enough.”

When he won the World Cup, suddenly the World Cup became “just six or seven games.” Ronaldo himself questioned whether one World Cup should define the best player in history, saying it is “6 games, 7 games” and asking if that is fair.

Then we heard the Euros being placed on the same level as the World Cup. Ronaldo said Portugal winning the Euros was “equivalent to winning a World Cup,” according to Fox Sports/AP. That is not neutral appreciation of greatness; that is clearly reframing the debate around what favours him.

So no, the issue is not that Ronaldo fans are “sensible” because they appreciate two legends. The issue is that many of them spent years reducing Messi’s legacy, then started preaching balance when the evidence no longer favoured their argument.

Ronaldo is an all-time great. That part is settled. But the “two GOATs” argument often feels less like fairness and more like damage control.
