This is how I formed most of my opinions about AI.
Is AI art, art = depends on intentionality and workflow
Is AI art theft = No
Can AI become sentient = No
It's just floating point arithmetic.
If you wish to tell me I'm wrong, also tell me, how did you come to your conclusions?
@OverwatchElite9@WhaleInsider They are talking about local running models, so the company can host it in whichever country they are based in, in their own buildings. You can download the same Chinese models yourself and run them locally on your own computer too. You can even train on top.
@CatenaccioEra@pubity Companies don't do it now because they don't wish to devalue their stock, but reusing or donating waste stock can benefit many people. Seems like a no brainer, don't make stuff that will automatically end up as waste.
@coinbureau The person who stands against open access to technology and knowledge, is my enemy. Never allow tech companies to restrict opensource research and releases.
is it just me, or do all the new AI models just feel like the same models. The last major leap forward feels like z-image turbo purely because it gave the same quality of flux with less processing power. Since then, nothing really mind blowing has been released.
@ednewtonrex I'm fully with them that authors, illustrators and content creators should be compensated. Their letter dose not actually propose a workable solution though. It just rambles on about ethics. How do they plan to stop a foreign company just taking the data?
When someone invites conversation, you try engage, they respond by misrepresenting what you said then instantly block you so you can't respond to them. People who do this are not interested in conversation, they just want to tell you what to think.
@allisonperryart The difference is the witch hunts with no nuance. Even features in photoshop now use AI. So a game dev who uses standardised tools would need to declare AI use to stay honest. When this happens many consumers assume everything is AI.
@Polymarket 0 sources cited. I'm pretty sure I know which "study" you are referring to, wasn't it just a news article where they had another AI determine what was considered right or left leaning?
@xaviersonline_ it should always be a choice. I have no problem with an added AI mode button on the top bar, but having it permanently in the search with no way to turn it off is infuriating.
A simple game I made using AI, this might be a fun project to expand on. Like a game dashboard filled with minigames like this.
