Speaking about the recent passing of Sen. Lindsey Graham on "Face the Nation," The Citadel President Gen. Frank McKenzie, USMC (Ret.), ’79, said:
“Senator Graham was a great representative of the State of South Carolina and our nation, a great voice in the national security space, and a particular friend to The Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina. Over many years, he's done a lot of great things for our school. In fact, he embodies the concept of the citizen-soldier: the person who isn't a professional military officer, pursues a broad, deep, public professional career, and yet dons the uniform and serves this nation. That's what we seek to produce at The Citadel. There's no better person to emulate than Lindsey Graham, and we will miss him dearly."

It is a tremendous day for The Citadel as one of our own, Randy Bresnik '89, has been named the Commander of NASA's Artemis III mission set to launch next year. This vital mission will bring humans one step closer to walking on the moon again, and we are incredibly proud that this mission will be led by a distinguished Citadel grad. Randy's career, with 25 years as a Marine Corps pilot and and two previous spaceflights, represents the promise of what four years at The Citadel can prepare cadets to accomplish in life. All of us at The Citadel will be cheering for Randy and his crew as they make history!
Last week, faculty and staff enjoyed a day at The Citadel Beach House with pizza and games for Employee Appreciation Day. Thank you for your hard work and dedication this school year. The Citadel would not be the same without each and every one of you.
