(1) Who can apply through Express Entry?

To be eligible, you need to meet the criteria of at least 1 of these 3 immigration programs managed through Express Entry:
• Canadian Experience Class for skilled workers with Canadian work experience
• Federal Skilled Worker Program for skilled workers with foreign work experience
• Federal Skilled Trades Program for skilled workers qualified in a skilled trade

(2) How does Express Entry work?

1. Create a profile and enter the pool.
2. We conduct various rounds of invitations and send invitations to apply to the candidates with the most points in each round.
3. If you're invited to apply, send us a complete application.
4. We'll review your application and make a decision.

(3) What is my CRS score?

The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) is a points-based system we use to score your profile and rank it in the Express Entry pool. It’s used to assess your:

(4) What is the minimum CRS score to get an invitation to apply?

(5) How do Express Entry draws work?

We invite candidates from the pool to apply in rounds throughout the year, following these steps:

1. We choose the type of round we’ll hold (e.g. which category of workers) based on Canada’s economic and labour needs.
2. We decide the number of candidates we need to invite and the cut-off score for that round.
3. We identify the highest-ranking candidates from the pool who are eligible for the chosen round type.
4. We invite these candidates to apply for permanent residence.
