I can’t help but address the rampant misogyny in Korean politics. This is going to be a bit of a long post.

First, South Korea essentially operates under a two-party system. The conservative People Power Party (PPP) has openly aligned itself with misogynistic ideologies, even stoking them for political gain. This has led many young women in Korea to gravitate towards the Democratic Party (DPK), which is positioned as the opposition. The Democratic Party earned feminist support in the past by recruiting young feminist figures like Park Ji-hyun, who had played a leading role in addressing major online sexual crimes, including the infamous Nth Room case.
