🐸 A single #FrogID recording from QLD has set a new record, with 14 frog species detected! Even more impressively, nearly half of the species heard in this recording, like the Crucifix Frog, have no previous records from the area. Thanks for your submission, Satoku!
Recently, Steven Lofthouse recorded a Crawling Toadlet (Pseudophryne guentheri) from rural southwest Western Australia, adding the first frog record for that Australian grid cell to #FrogID.

Calling in South Australia are the Kangaroo Island Tree Frog (Litoria sibilus) and South Australian Tree Frog (Litoria calliscelis) 🐸. Until early 2024, these frogs were thought to be part of the widely distributed Litoria ewingi).

A few new arrivals the last 2 days, a moulting ad Curlew Sandpiper and a Black Tern arrived on Thursday after overnight thunderstorms, and today bang on cue a Roseate Tern settled down for a few hours mainly resting amongst the chaos that is a mixed common Tern and BH Gull colony

A Northern Ornate Nursery Frog (Cophixalus ornatus) recorded during #FrogIDWeek! 🐸
These tiny frogs live in the leaf litter of tropical rainforests. Unlike many Australian frogs, they lay eggs on land and the male guards them until they hatch! Thanks for your submission, Kym!
