East Lansing Traffic Alert: Please be advised of work on Harrison Road between Grand River Ave and Saginaw Hwy Wednesday, Sept. 23 & Thursday, Sept. 24, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. both days. The work will result in a single lane closure; flaggers will maintain traffic.

Affected streets during the race will include portions of Michigan Avenue, Beal Street and Harrison Road, beginning at 8 a.m.

One lane of traffic on Michigan Avenue will be closed during the race. Motorists are advised to proceed with caution along the route. (3/3)

The City of East Lansing would like to advise motorists of the 33rd annual Capital City River Run half marathon and 5K, which will take place Sunday, Sept. 20. A portion of the half marathon will run through East Lansing. (1/3)

During the race, half marathon participants will begin the race in Downtown Lansing and make their way to East Lansing and Michigan State University’s campus, before ending the race in Lansing. (2/3)

Parking is limited in the main lot. If able, please leave space there for those who need it. The overflow lot on Forest Street is open--use the sidewalk to get to the side closer to the canopy and avoid the side where construction is happening (closer to the soccer field).

The entry to the East Lansing Hannah Community Center has temporarily shifted to the doors under the canopy near the pool for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)-funded sidewalk project. The main entrance is expected to reopen by noon tomorrow (Thursday, Sept. 17).
