The world's busiest week at work ended with fellowship of the ring on dvd, the company of a friend of the good, old, comfortable and snarky sort, and plenty of chocolate. Life's good
On a more positive note, I really really want to learn needlework lace making. Because I needed yet another very time-consuming hobby, I suppose (or maybe I'm just too easily influenced!)
I've got several new and wonderful dances I'm dying to practice, and instead I'm exhausted after a short trip to the grocery store. Wonderful timing, body, absolutely splendid
It's probably sacrilegious to put coffee in a container clearly labelled "finest tea blend" but it's a nice box and I have no shame. Another way to confuse house guests maybe?
Even if you're not into costuming/cosplay/historical garments whatsoever, everyone should watch this CoCoVid livestream on inclusion in the costuming community: https://t.co/yVNvjNYC4c
Really really want to make a swishy swooshy skirt. A few problems: 1. I don't have a sewing machine and can't use one, 2. Never sewn a garment before, 3. Can't afford the right fabric, and 4. Can't find the right pattern. So let's forge right ahead!
Despite cooing over fluffy cats and cuddly dogs, evidence suggests that my favourite animal might actually be goats. Get everywhere they shouldn't, eat everything, inquisitive, noisy, slightly odd, cute yet amply able to cause pain if crossed (and they know it!).
So I can now tell you that TaldΓ»ni is exactly 478540km2 (119635 square pixels) big and I'm sitting here barely able to contain my enthusiasm for something that's just kind of boring
New discovery: Did you know that Photoshop has a function to calculate an area automatically? Stuff got SO much easier! Because I do in fact absolutely need to know the exact size of each of my fictional countries #mapmaking#amworldbuilding
After ten minutes of worldbuilding an empire has now changed size and moved, moving three other countries and a mountain range in the process. Now I have to redo all my nifty charts over exact size, population density and the like. Yay, more work
Not to mention the one that is Not! Like! Other! Programs! - but is really exactly the same but with lots of extra steps. I tried it while recovering from a burnout and that was by far not the best idea I've had
Weight loss program ads: "Oh, it's not a DIET, oh no, it's a lifestyle change, these things take time." Same ad: "I lost THIS much weight in only (ridiculously low number) weeks!!" ...Riiight. Not conflicting messages at all there
