Latino/x history and culture is Los Angeles. When a Latino/x shop, restaurant, or small business closes, a piece of LA history dies. This is sad news.... #NationalHispanicHeritageMonth

I am looking forward to the LAT’s editorials about ending cash bail in LA, a long-overdue change in a carceral system that punishes the poor before they have their day in court.
Goodbye to cash bail. L.A. is moving to a better approach to pretrial justice https://t.co/nzJAZN5n72
Friday night was amazing at @GrandPerfs! Together with @KCET@PBSSoCal@LAist we presented “Chinatown PunkWars” & followed screening with a panel discussion & live performance by the Linda Lindas!!!
Coming to Grand Performances for the first time on Friday, 9/22 is the all girl punk rock band The Linda Lindas🤘🏼! They will be performing as part of the LAist, KCET Artbound screening of Chinatown Punk Wars. The Linda Lindas channel the spirit of original punk, power pop, and new wave through today's ears, eyes, and minds.
The band began performing together in 2018 and are best known for their legendary set for the Los Angeles Public Library in 2021 that included “Racist, Sexist Boy.” Unexpectedly and organically, the clip went viral, expediting their deal with Epitaph Records. Don't miss this night of music, culture, and activism.
