People should not be surprised that the contestants for the Osun election didn’t show up for the debate.

Our political class doesn’t want to answer to the citizens. Have you seen them itemise what they would do if they win, and how? They’ve strategically pushed the state into massive pre-election violence to dodge questions about their manifestos.

Whoever wins won’t be accountable to the people. This is a sign of the draconian tactics that will engulf the next four years.

I hope the media in the state will now know that the political class gives them no regard. Dey no send them. We can’t romanticise the political class and expect utmost respect.

This one belongs to the Osun River communities who refused to stay silent, and to the team that turned their evidence into action. We proved the contamination with data, and helped drive real government response. Six years in, we are only accelerating.
