@lordsutch I haven't heard it, also don't care about it, no I don't like country and Rolling Stone can kind of fuck off. XD. I just have my cultivated Spotify.
@RollingStone I haven't heard it, but it's also true I don't listen to radio anymore. That's what Spotify or Pandora are for and I can cultivate my own list. Which doesn't include this song.
@JustinLehmiller I wonder how reliable the survey is (and how reliable the takers were...thinking of mischievous responding). I'm always wary of "kids today" headlines...

It does not, in fact appear to be correct. Research suggests similar DV rates in LGB relationships as hetero, including lesbian relationships: https://t.co/GoroIIerVq
People don't "go lesbian" because of violent heterosexual relationships. It's a sexual orientation, largely inborn.

Is it still 2020?
The article was bizarre.
Feels like a fingercuffs argument too. If white woman decorate their nails this would be "cultural appropriation". If they don't, it's marginalization of non-whites.
Also the section "Polish propaganda" was funny. At first I was wondering why the Poles were being blamed for all this. XD
Must be a slow news day in England.
@NOLA_bert Agreed and I'm at a liberal arts myself. Still, even for me, research is theoretically the "currency" of the field. I'd like to think I'm a pretty decent teacher but I'm not sure I get much "reward" for it in any direct sense.
This article by Jonathan Zimmerman by U Penn is really good. It argues that all the public hand-wringing by profs and universities over #AI is kind of silly, as unis have never taken teaching seriously.
We profs aren't trained much in teaching (true) aren't primarily selected for jobs and promotion based on teaching (true) and are offered few incentives for excellent teaching (true).
AI may be disruptive (true) but maybe it's not the main problem: https://t.co/trHahBifKc
Former President Obama says Democrats made a mistake by making goals materialistic and instrumental: "What people are starved for at the moment is the ability to tell a moral and ethical story about how we live together in this moment."
