"I don't think anybody dreams of sitting in this seat this way, especially when the person walking out the door has the level of character and competence that Mendy has."
- Andy Green
Steve Cohen on Carlos Mendoza's departure as Mets manager:
"I want to express my deepest gratitude to Carlos Mendoza for his leadership and unwavering commitment. He represented this organization with integrity and dedication throughout, and I wish him and his family all the best.
Our commitment to bringing our fans a championship-caliber team has not changed. There is no sugar coating it: this season has been a disappointment and our fans deserve better than what we’ve delivered."
If we're really about to lose Mitchell Robinson because James Dolan won't go into the 2nd apron in order to run it back?
A.) I don't understand why we didn't draft Tarris Reed Jr., Henri Veesaar or keep
Ugonna Onyenso.
B.) I want 7'0 Deandre Ayton.
30.3 Minutes.
15.8 Points.
10.1 Rebounds.
(3.0 Offensive Rebounds).
1.0 Blocks.
1.5 Assists.
0.7 Steals.
FG% of .600%.
FT% of .741%.
Player Efficiency Rating of 19.7.
The reasons why I'd want Deandre Ayton is because he's an experienced Starter, still young at only 27 years old, can score as a finisher down low, Rebounds and Defends in the paint and has the same style of play as Mitchell Robinson ala doesn't shoot 3's and plays like an old school throwback Center while also coming off of 72 games played last year.
Most importantly he's never been surrounded by this type of talent around him ala Jalen Brunson, OG Anunoby, Josh Hart, Mikal Bridges, Deuce McBride and Karl-Anthony Towns which means, imo; the world has yet to see the best of Deandre Ayton.
"Everything that has gone wrong this season has been a product of maybe a poor roster setup, poor play...not necessarily poor managing. Carlos Mendoza takes the fall anyway."

The scary thing about LeBron going to Miami is that the Heat could still have a path to keep Andrew Wiggins while adding LeBron this summer.
If Norman Powell leaves and Wiggins re-signs on a deal starting around $26 million or less, Miami could potentially stay under the first apron and still use the full $15 million Non-Taxpayer MLE.
That means the Heat could add LeBron, keep another key piece like Wiggins, and still sign veterans. This could be the perfect year for Miami to reload.
"I always get that question, 'where you from?' and I always correct people... I'm from Syracuse. Born and raised."
Syracuse native Rick Brunson hoisted the Knicks' NBA Championship trophy at City Hall this afternoon 🏀
"We appreciate the love and support that we get from all Knicks fans throughout the state.
Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart joke that OG Anunoby's $212,000,000 deal means he's funding the Knicks team house in the Hamptons
Jalen: "OG signs we got OG 5, 212. I said damn, I was like what the f, 212"
Josh: "I feel like that's like the unwritten rule in the NBA the guy that makes the most money picks up the tab"
Jalen: "I feel like we could probably buy a house somewhere nice, like a team house. That would fall under the Hampton team house in the Hampton"
Jalen: "I mean, that'll be OG's house. I got a key, I got the code"
"Tough to go to war as a general of an army without the weapons to fight in the battles - Carlos was undermanned this year...and he falls victim"

According to SNY’s John Harper, Albert Pujols has told friends he wants the #Mets managerial job to replace Carlos Mendoza.
Pujols managed Juan Soto for Team Dominican Republic at the 2026 World Baseball Classic, and the two are very close - as Pujols has been a mentor.
