We offered Amendment 696 on SB 6346 to ensure this tax is only for millionaires, and WA Democrats shot down that amendment. It's very clear where this tax is going. This tax is going to YOU.

This new income tax proposal comes after WA Democrats/Socialists voted to shut the public out of the budget process, while passing the largest tax increase and spending spree in state history (SB 5167) last year. The new Democrat taxes include the largest property tax increase in state history too that didn't have "property tax" in the title of the bill (HB 2049). Many of their new taxes are deeply regressive and tax the poor, hitting food banks, non-profits, charities, health care, childcare, and school districts (SB 5814). WA Democrats also cut $782 MILLION out of Medicaid, cut childcare and domestic violence prevention programs, cut support for state & county fairs, and increased the Discover Pass, fishing licenses, and hunting licenses 38%-50% (SB 5390, SB 5583, & SB 5167). Now, WA Democrats back for more.

None of this was necessary. We proved repeatedly that we could have a budget with no new taxes, no tax increases, and no service cuts by focusing on eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse in our $ave WA Budget (SB 5810).

Current state law, Initiative 2111, also prohibits a state income tax. Initiative 2111 was signed by over 450,000 people, which means WA Democrats would have to vote against the will of the people to pass this.

Additionally, a $15 BILLION surplus was squandered, there's still $1.17 BILLION in missing COVID money, $1 BILLION in wasted Labor & Industries tech projects, $646 MILLION of unemployment money being stolen by Nigerian scammers, $416 MILLION unaccounted for in the Department of Children, Youth and Families, $340 MILLION going to non-citizens, and so much more.

Imagine what these billions alone would have paid for.

We need your help to stop the greed! Families and individuals need tax relief, not ever-increasing taxes.
