Today, on the International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation, we stand unequivocally against FGM. This practice is not culture, tradition, or religion. It is violence against girls. FGM causes lifelong physical and psychological harm and continues only because it is too often excused, ignored, or misunderstood.
At the AHA Foundation, we believe zero tolerance means action. It means centering survivors, equipping professionals to recognize and prevent risk, and demanding laws and policies that protect girls without exception. We stand for the right of every girl to grow up safe, whole, and free from coercion. Zero tolerance is not symbolic. It is a commitment to ending FGM everywhere.
Female genital mutilation is a grave human rights violation rooted in gender inequalities, power imbalances and the social norms that uphold them.

A woman cuts her hair at her sister’s funeral in #Iran, because the regime shot her sister in the head.
Let me be clear with Western female politicians, especially those in leadership positions in Europe: Do not cut your hair in symbolic solidarity with Iranian women. Cut your ties with our killers.
Believe me cutting your hair for Instagram solidarity, doesn’t scare dictators. It doesn’t save lives. It just makes you feel better. Stop legitimizing our terrorist regime.
Her name was Melika Dastyab.
She was 21, a musician, economics student and she was dead by security forces while her sister stood next to her.
That’s not a hashtag.
That’s a crime against humanity.
We call for the immediate release of Egyptian lawyer and human rights defender Hoda Abdelmonem. After 7+ years of reprisals and medical neglect, she now faces a third trial on unfounded terrorism charges. 📄 Read the full joint statement: https://t.co/z2KTfL4Uwr
We welcome the ICJ Advisory Opinion: Israel remains the occupying power in #Gaza & must allow UN & #UNRWA aid. No credible evidence UNRWA breached neutrality; starvation confirmed as a weapon.
All states must ensure Israel upholds international law & Palestinians’ rights.

We condemn the latest pushback of at least 80 Syrians, including women and children, by Cyprus, already condemned by the ECtHR for violating non-refoulement. Cyprus' unlawful practices led to a deadly shipwreck, resulting in 3 deaths and at least 16 missing. This must end NOW!

🚨What's here?
150 mass graves containing about 75 thousand bodies of detainees are located in one area, the Al-Hussainiya area in the Damascus countryside behind the Conference Palace. Each hole is 20 meters deep. The bodies of detainees are buried in batches on top of each other. The first load arriving in refrigerators is buried and covered with dirt. Then the next load arrives and they place it on top of it and cover with dirt. This is how they continue until the hole is finished and then they move to another hole. They used about 15 meters of these holes and about 3 or 4 meters remained that have not been finished yet. There are about 150 holes that have been completely filled. The area of the cemetery is estimated in kilometers and contains the remains of tens of thousands of detainees. "Initial estimates are about 75 thousand." As we have been saying for years, most of them are from the period of great killing in the detention centers, which are years extending from the beginning of 2012 until 2015 and 2016. Every day, there were about 400 bodies arriving in this cemetery, and this is one of several mass graves. Syria needs the help of United Nations organizations to open this The big file and the disclosure of the bodies of tens of thousands of detainees about whom tens of thousands of families are waiting for a single piece of news
This cemetery must be guarded and international organizations must be waited for to supervise it, individual initiatives or the destruction of the crime scene must be prevented
Here is the great massacre.. Here the whole world will stand in reverence for the sacrifices of the Syrians, here the universe will know how much the Syrians paid to obtain their freedom.
"At the end of the video there is a very important testimony"
Women disproportionately suffer in wars but remain sidelined in peace processes. Their meaningful participation is key to creating durable, inclusive agreements. It’s time to dismantle patriarchal barriers & ensure women’s equal roles in decision-making for lasting peace. #16Days
1-What future for Syria, particularly for democratic aspirations?Looking at HTS and SNA’s policies in the past, they have not encouraged a democratic space to develop, but quite the opposite. They have been authoritarian. No trust should be given to such forces, quite the opposite.
Please share this essential infographic in Arabic aimed at educating Syrians about basic management for the tens of thousands of prisoners that have been released from Assad’s inhumane prisons.
Many are still at risk of dying from serious conditions they contracted during their imprisonment.

The images coming out Sednaya Prison should haunt us for ages to come, thousands trapped beneath layers of structures, never seeing the light of day.
Detainees held without charge in solitary confinement, left to rot. This is the "Human Slaughterhouse" of Syria.
My advice to journos covering Syria: this is a complex story to tell with a criminal regime, bad actors, foreign influence & uncertainty of what's to come. Tell complex stories, but center your stories in the agency of Syrians. It's their story, their country, their freedom.
Thirteen and a half years ago in March 2011, a group of teenagers in Dara'a, Syria spray painted: "Your turn has come, doctor," in reference to Bashar al-Assad. They were arrested and tortured, which led to protests in what would become the Syrian uprising.
Today is for them.
