A man can "get away with" being sweet, writing poetry and doing other romantic and sentimental things that would otherwise make him look weak, so long as it's contrasted by an active capacity for savagery.
A brutally ruthless man who writes touching heartfelt letters is captivating, a paradox, an enigma - doing the unexpected and seemingly more complete because of it through his sheer defiance of categorisation, whilst a man who does the same without such contrast has no foundation of respect for legitimising his romantic self-expression, and is thus far likelier to elicit disgust and disrespect.
Of course, the true poetry in all of this is that if you want a license to be wholesome, then you should prepare to demonstrate your capacity to be thoroughly unwholesome, in much the same way they say the man who seeks peace should prepare for war, life is full of these counterintuitive little quirks where one must veer in the opposite direction of where they truly wish to go, in order to arrive at their heart's desire.
I look down on men for this. I’ve debated this topic many times before, and it is probably the most dysgenic thing about my sex
“I want a woman who’s easier to lead, so I’ll get a simple one”
Men really do be nerfing their kids genetics to be the wizard king of a potato woman.
"Oysters open completely when the moon is full; and when the crab sees one it throws a piece of stone or seaweed into it and the oyster cannot close again so that it serves the crab for meat.
Such is the fate of him who opens his mouth too much and thereby puts himself at the mercy of the listener."
- Leonardo Da Vinci
Jordan Peterson changed the trajectory of the cultural landscape completely. Before this, progressives would dog walk everyone because they captured the frame of moral superiority and dominated language, which inevitably shapes and perverts reality.
The anti-intellectualism of the right rendered them useless. A lot of them were –– in the kindest way possible –– too dumb or uneducated to put up much of a rebuttal.
They just whined in a quiet and confused frustration.
Peterson was precise with language, knowledgable, and articulate at a time nobody else on the right did their homework. His psyche has struggled with the burden and stress, but he'll go down as a majorly important figure in the history books.
@MimiSchmoo @Sarumans_hand @AbortionChat Also I obviously disagree with your stance but don’t have any ill will at all towards you so please don’t stoop to insults or demeaning. I don’t want this to be an attack thread on or against either of us as people.
@MimiSchmoo @Sarumans_hand @AbortionChat Is it not the same thing? If I wasn’t motivated to provide for my children and chose not to, without legal intervention, they would die or suffer greatly. I would be obligated by morals and law to provide for them anyways, using my body, against my own preferences. Body autonomy.
@MimiSchmoo @Sarumans_hand @AbortionChat Humans are regularly compelled to use their body or parts to keep other humans alive. Criminal neglect is a concept written into law. Parents are obligated to nourish and maintain their children. We are required to pay taxes to support the general welfare of our neighbors.
@MimiSchmoo @Sarumans_hand @AbortionChat Respectfully, you don’t know anything about who I am or what skin I do or don’t have in the game.
Not here to “score points”
The post was about the principals behind the argument. It wasn’t an attempt to downplay the seriousness of pregnancy, human’s biggest biological burden.
@MimiSchmoo @Sarumans_hand @AbortionChat “Doesn’t want to go through pregnancy”
I don’t want to deal with traffic. I don’t have the right to kill the people getting in their car to leave work at rush hour.
@MimiSchmoo @Sarumans_hand @AbortionChat “Who are we to question God?”
Is actually the correct approach to take. Keeping this in mind, when God breathes life into the womb, we are not to question why, or to rip that life from the Earth before its time.
