@michaelgove@AngelaRayner Thanks Michael for all you’ve done to help those stuck in the cladding and building safety crisis. You were the only Tory minister that took our desperate situation seriously and affected change. Having lost my home I still appreciate your efforts. Labour has a big task ahead.
@CilComLFC Investment in infrastructure creates growth, and GDP growth is the only way to improve this stagnant economy. When the tide comes in all the boats rise.
@jk_rowling thanks for writing your essay on Sex & Gender Issues - a very interesting and balanced read. I wish everyone could be balanced and open minded enough to acknowledge the issues you’ve highlighted that potentially put women at risk. It should be a safe & open debate.
Menu's a bit thin...
• Cap GR at a peppercorn
• Set max financial value for GR
• Cap GR at a % of the property value
• Limit GR to the original value when lease agreed
• Freezing GR at current levels

So, how do these leaseholder protections work in practice?
We know remediation doesn't come cheap.
Here's an example using real-world data.
#BuildingSafetyCrisis@michaelgove@AngelaRayner
@RH_residents@ICladiators@tomhunt1988@ICladiators I’m ready to leave this cladding & corruption shitshow that’s fkd up my life. A low moment that nearly broke me? Accusation by MP @tomhunt1988 of “attacking” him. I honestly cried that someone in this position, knowing what I was going through could suggest this.
@martinboydlkp@ICladiators@RMTunion@railpen Judge Ruth Wayte suggests that Grey GR/@railpen knew exactly what it was doing when it did the same at Vista Tower in 2018 "and is likely to have gained some commercial benefit at that stage."

We haven't had the best year with our local fire service @SuffolkFire. 2 full prohibition notices & another avoided at the last moment. However, we've always listened & understood their concerns.
We would like our elected representatives to do the same #BuildingSafetyCrisis
Two years ago Churchman House received a B1 EWS1 rating. No waking watch, no fire alarm & no threat of evacuation.
New set of eyes looking at the same building in a more detailed way. Waking watch & fire alarm required + threat of evacuation. #BuildingSafetyCrisis
@tomhunt1988@dannybster@ipswichstar24 Unfortunately @tomhunt1988 at Churchman’s House the lawful ‘responsible person’ is the leaseholder resident’s management company (RMC). The freeholder is not the ‘responsible person’, and is currently refusing any funding, so unless the leaseholders pay, the work cannot be done.

Just to clarify before the misinformation starts.
Churchmans House is setup with tri-parte lease.
1. Freeholder
2. Residents Management Company (of which leaseholders have a share, and has a board of unpaid, volunteer directors)
3. Leaseholders
@tomhunt1988@TheRealRuman@jackabbott90@tomhunt1988 always the easiest way out to accuse someone of attacking you. Me and many of your constituents have had critical dialogue unfairly labelled as a personal attack on you. Political figures should be capable of engaging in debate without making accusations.
@CommonsTreasury When is a govt backed Flood-Re style insurance scheme going to happen for buildings that have building safety issues, while scope and progress of work is still ongoing?
Our Buildings Insurance has gone up 10x it's not sustainable in the short-term, assuming we can find cover
To the small handful of leaseholders (less than 10!) who have sacrificed everything to hold govt & developers to account, not giving up even when those with vested interests did everything they could to smear us with lies, a well deserved recognition!
