I didn’t realise, when I started working as a psychologist with children and families, how many stories I would hear about distress relating to school. School-related distress wasn’t really something that came up in my clinical training. 1/
Imagine a world where we said, what’s going on with the children? So many of them are angry and distressed after school. So many of them are shut in their bedrooms. So many of them are anxious and unhappy. So many of them disillusioned at 15. 1;

It's important to me as a husband, brother, and father to make it clear that I believe in a pregnant person's right to autonomy. I'll be making a monthly donation to abortion providers in states with trigger laws, and encourage those who can to do the same.
Why is this the seemingly prevalent mindset? I want everyone to be as happy and successful (and well rested) as they can be. I can’t understand wanting other people to suffer.
It reminds me of an college intro course. It was 8am on Fridays, only because it had always been that way. The professor said that if they changed it, older students would be upset. Everyone hated it, but let’s definitely make other people miserable just because we were?
