Good to work constructively with Senator @BarbaraPocock to establish a new inquiry into the role of social housing in Australia.

This is Parliament at its best - focused on the future and how we build more homes for Australians who need them.

The inquiry will look at the economic and social benefits of social housing, the big pipeline of social housing we’ve already funded, and what more needs to be done.

I’m particularly excited about looking into how we can use more modern construction methods to build more homes, faster.

We look forward to hearing from experts and industry across Australia.

BREAKING: Today we announced $308 million through the Housing Australia Future Fund to deliver 448 new crisis and transitional homes for women and children escaping family and domestic violence.
