#FishSci is anyone using Loligo's shuttle box system including ShuttleSoft software? It increases the laptop CPU to 80-100% immediately and crashes within 1-24 h. Have tried 3 laptops. Anyone experienced this and have a solution?? Manufacturer unable to help after several months.
New paper in @J_Exp_Biol - We built a behavioural arena to see if coral grouper chose to warm themselves when in cool water. Surprisingly, they didn't! Do we really understand how fish prioritise behavioural thermoregulation under controlled conditions?? https://t.co/K2HTpGKvjI
Hello world, does anyone have any recommendations for this setup - maintaining a thermal treatment at a defined increment above an ambient treatment? Thanks!
Chuffed to arrive at my desk and find this new book arrived in the mail. Congrats to Stephen Midway, @CalebHasler and Prosanta Chakrabarty for wrestling all the contributors into line! I've provided my perspective on respirometry methodology if anyone's interested :) #fishsci
8 years since we first realised the data in many papers were non-biological. It’s a relief that the investigation concluded scientific misconduct and data fabrication in several papers.

We’d be very interested in receiving feedback on this paper. Did we cover the most likely suspects causing post-exercise mortality in fish? Do you have any other ideas of mechanisms that you’ve tested or would like to test?? Let us know! #fishsci

Want to do your bit for climate change? But don’t want to be a vegan or a Vegetarian. Then why not just have two days a week ‘meat free’ - this small choice will mean we (the UK) will hit our targets re reduction of CO2 as it will cut meat production by 1/3rd - food for thought!
