It’s the most wonderful time of the year—election season! Voting begins today in Fairfax County. Make a plan to get out and vote, make sure your voice is heard!
Last night in Council, I addressed the Hamas attack in Israel. I will always stand against the terror, hate, and evil like what we are seeing was perpetrated against Israelis on Oct. 7 and beyond.
Why is it important for a Town Council thousands of miles away to address? /🧵
Election Day is here, another great day in the Commonwealth of Virginia! If you’re a registered voter in Fairfax County, I encourage you to support crime victims and our police by voting for Ed Nuttall, @Nuttall4Fairfax, in the Democrat primary for Commonwealth Attorney.
The Commonwealth’s Attorney has the duty to prosecute alleged criminals; without it, public order, civic peace, and justice can not be achieved. This is yet another failure of Mr. Descano’s administration. Fairfax County and a growing number of countless victims deserve better.
New: The suspect who allegedly wounded Congressman Gerry Connolly’s staff appears to have been released in January 2022 after an assault on a law enforcement officer (Class 6 felony). The disposition of the case was nolle pros. @7NewsDC is reaching out to Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney Steve Descano for more information.
I am shocked by yet another story of politically-targeted violence, today, against Rep. Gerry Connolly's staff. Whether toward federal, state, or local public servants, judges, legislators, agency officials or their staffs—we can't tolerate it. My prayer is for quick recoveries.
This budget fully funds our capital projects, gives significant wage adjustments to our staff, improves our existing services, gives our police the resources they need, and delivers tax relief to our residents.
I was proud to join with you in advocating for these priorities.
Herndon, thank you for making your voices heard! The FY24 budget has been adopted.
Not only did we succeed in amending it to get tax relief to our community, we were also able to increase our police salaries by 11%. This is a huge win for our Town!
Tonight I will be fighting for a real estate tax cut in Herndon. Over the past two decades, our taxes have increased at 3x the rate of wages.
Without addressing this, we are telling young professionals, families, and people on fixed incomes: “We don’t need you in our community.”
If you would like to add your voice to this fight, you can submit a comment to the Town Clerk online or come to the public meeting at 765 Lynn Street tonight at 7pm and speak to the Council directly.

I look forward to addressing our regional housing crisis with an “all of the above” approach. We need tax relief, meaningful age-in-place policies, expanded workforce housing, and a diverse housing stock. I’m honored to partner with you as Herndon leads that charge in NoVa.
Herndon, thank you for entrusting me with a seat on the Council. I am honored and completely stunned to have earned the highest number of votes.
I'll work everyday to keep the promises I made to you—to prioritize your needs and to bring #HerndonTogether.

I am grateful to the voters in the Town of Herndon for again putting your confidence in me to represent you as your mayor. I will continue to do all I can to earn your trust and serve all our constituents, organizations, and businesses.
