So it turns out China was building a hydro electric facility by a glacier and all the construction caused a portion of the glacier to collapse, tumble down, and turn into a mudslide that killed like 2,500 Nepalese people.
But all you will hear about in the news is leftists claiming this was because of climate change
@RichardHanania This is not a right vs left issue. You are exactly the sort of person I am talking about.
Your "You don't believe in free markets unless non-American workers with unAmerican values are treated the same as American citizens!" Jedi mind trick only works on the weak of spirit.
Investors like Paul want the immigration debate to be strictly polar because it is the only way their traitorous ideas might seem reasonable.
They paint one side as racist, backwards, economically illiterate absolutists and the other as enlightened, growth-minded cosmopolitian realists. Support for laws that protect American citizens can be dismissed as uneducated, anyone who hires immigrants or foreigners in any capacity a hypocrite.
American law should, and does, advantage American citizens. We should not have to compete on an even playing field with billions of people who almost universally don't share our values or respect our institutions, even if they are "the most qualified" or willing to work double the hours for the same wages. The men running Operation Paperclip did not think Americans should have to compete with the entire Third World, they understood that a carefully controlled amount of highly-skilled expert immigration is net good for America even when allegience is in question.
It is worth noting that even on a purely economic level, ignoring all burdens of loyalty or allegiance to your countrymen and treating America as nothing but an economic activity zone, it still doesn't make sense to say without qualification that foreigners should get any job where they are more qualified than their American counterpart.
As just one easy example out of dozens, about 20% of immigrants return home after less than five years, taking all their savings and vested shares with them. Another 20% will leave within ten years, doing the same. All the while, they will wire, on average, ~15% of their wages out of the United States economy every month. Some occupations and origins average 30%! The idea that this should be completely ignored with regard to employment and immigration policy is rampant among the same people who tell you with a straight face that limits on immigrants will destroy the American economy, that the dumb rednecks need to be saved.
I lean very libertarian and have strongly supported immigration to America for many years with countless public examples. That doesn't put me on the same side as the men who want to sell out America, and no amount of long-past accomplishment obliges any of us to listen to their lectures from the other side of the Atlantic.
Don’t say anything about the smol bean secret Defense Department operative with a million followers trashing American citizens online or else you’re engaging in “organized stalking.”
@JesseKellyDC@PeteButtigieg Should probably lump in a lot of the “conservative” personalities too. Milo, Dave Rubin, George Santos, not to mention all the closeted ones that have been caught trying to solicit sex from other men at CPAC, TPUSA events, etc.
@JackPosobiec This is a retarded take.
This technology would have been used to track and press charges against your local pastor for holding services during COVID.
Palmer Luckey on H-1B visas:
"You would not believe what I saw in Silicon Valley. The H-1B abuse is insane. It is obviously a scam to replace US workers with, basically, slave labor that can’t ever escape."
@agupta My point is that the people who believe H1B jobs will be filled by Americans are right, not delusional or wrong.
Most of these jobs cannot be outsourced to Bangalore, and the United States government should punish companies outsourcing the jobs that can.
Man the Data Republican saga is so bad. She grifts off here after being “doxed” (whatever that means,” makes close to 500k in subscriptions and ad revenue on X a year while also apparently taking a government salary at the Department of War. Then completely melts down due to LLM induced psychosis, slanders her coworkers (!), refuses to delete posts and then issues a complete non apology apology claiming she was “stressed” while shilling notorious liberal lolcow James Lindsay and comparing him to Charlie Kirk. Her legion of internet fans defend her horrendous judgment and poor character, making any excuse for her narcissism. Then she just goes on like nothing happened.
How could you even write this? Beyond parody.
Deporting Ilhan Omar would be like landing an astronaut on the moon, in terms of the emotional and psychological inspiration it would have on the American people to see a foreigner Congresswoman deported. It would be like chains and shackles were broken from a sleeping giant.
gary indiana not having power is an amazing story of diversity
>entire city council is black
>every electric company executive is black
>black residents can’t stop shooting at vehicles working to restore power
and they all blame racism for going without power for so long
Commentators say stuff like "no one is prepared for how deep this goes," but in my experience people are actually a lot less prepared for the fact that it's not that deep at all
