Thank you to everyone who helped make A Letter in Mind a huge success! Together, we raised almost £40,000 to support our work transforming the lives of those affected by neurological conditions.
John Ruskin believed the colours of the natural world could inspire and guide artists who should replicate them as truthfully as possible.
Ruskin likely produced this bright, detailed watercolour study of a kingfisher in October of 1871. He thought that kingfishers were the most beautiful birds native to England!

#WorldElephantDay A sperm whale tooth carved with an #elephant. Carving on whale bone is called scrimshaw & was a leisure activity for whalers. Early scrimshaw was done with crude sailing needles with candle black, soot or tobacco juice used to bring out the etched design.
