I don't think we should give up on having good vocabularies and knowing how to express ourselves precisely. I do, however, believe that most colleges tend to promote a very narrow jargon-type of word usage that seeks to enshrine one's identity as an expert that belongs to the club.
Christ's greatest commandment: love your neighbor as yourself. In Scripture, "neighbor" isn't tribal; it's the stranger, the foreigner, even the enemy.
I can't reconcile that faith with Republican priorities like cutting USAID and caging immigrants like animals and in general, promoting a narrow, exclusive, mean, and petty self interest. Love of neighbor is why I vote Democrat.
@emilyneardc That "sentiment" is what others call lived experience. Its not pleasant to acknowledge it, but it does ground a perspective in reality which is the first requirement for creating pragmatic policies that actually work.
@omni_american I believe a key element is missing in your analysis and that is the role SCOTUS (with the help of an abdicating Congress) has played in enabling the "unitary Executive."
